I'll be honest my statement was slightly hypocritical (slightly) but seriously is it worth getting all pissed off at eachother over stupid bullshit you can't REALLY change anyways? This person hates that person and etc? It's like children who hate eachother for no good reason.

I'm not pissed off at all, nor do I hate anyone on here. Can't speak for the rest, but... *shrug*

Absolutely. Some of the Republican's ultimate goals have been nothing beyond depriving rights to a selected lower classes. Those goals are very easy to achieve once you have popular backing, and then you can point to the same-sex marriage ban or the upper-middle class tax rebate you championed and act like you've done something meaningful for humanity.

Maybe this was an intentional setup, but... what happened in May '02?

1 - the democrats by and large are opposed to gay marriage, including john kerry, al gore and bill clinton

2- tax cuts for the rich almost always stimulate economic growth. as they did when bush cut taxes. the fact is Ben Bernanke, Greenspan and Milton Friedman have done more for the American working class than any democrat of the past 25 years. Look up the tax cuts signed by Kennedy, Reagan and GW for examples. It was not coincidence that Clinton had Republicans running the Federal Reserve.

3 - the republicans sucked. bush, the congress and the senate all sucked and I wish the democrats well. Hopefully they will undo the mess that the republicans made.

4 - michael moore is a liar, period. he is no more then the rush limbaugh of the left.

Dear Conservatives and Republicans,

I, and my fellow signatories, hereby make these promises to you:

1. We will always respect you for your conservative beliefs. We will never, ever, call you "unpatriotic" simply because you disagree with us. In fact, we encourage you to dissent and disagree with us.

2. We will let you marry whomever you want, even when some of us consider your behavior to be "different" or "immoral." Who you marry is none of our business. Love and be in love -- it's a wonderful gift.

3. We will not spend your grandchildren's money on our personal whims or to enrich our friends. It's your checkbook, too, and we will balance it for you.

4. When we soon bring our sons and daughters home from Iraq, we will bring your sons and daughters home, too. They deserve to live. We promise never to send your kids off to war based on either a mistake or a lie.

5. When we make America the last Western democracy to have universal health coverage, and all Americans are able to get help when they fall ill, we promise that you, too, will be able to see a doctor, regardless of your ability to pay. And when stem cell research delivers treatments and cures for diseases that affect you and your loved ones, we'll make sure those advances are available to you and your family, too.

6. Even though you have opposed environmental regulation, when we clean up our air and water, we, the Democratic majority, will let you, too, breathe the cleaner air and drink the purer water.

7. Should a mass murderer ever kill 3,000 people on our soil, we will devote every single resource to tracking him down and bringing him to justice. Immediately. We will protect you.

8. We will never stick our nose in your bedroom or your womb. What you do there as consenting adults is your business. We will continue to count your age from the moment you were born, not the moment you were conceived.

9. We will not take away your hunting guns. If you need an automatic weapon or a handgun to kill a bird or a deer, then you really aren't much of a hunter and you should, perhaps, pick up another sport. We will make our streets and schools as free as we can from these weapons and we will protect your children just as we would protect ours.

10. When we raise the minimum wage, we will pay you -- and your employees -- that new wage, too. When women are finally paid what men make, we will pay conservative women that wage, too.

11. We will respect your religious beliefs, even when you don't put those beliefs into practice. In fact, we will actively seek to promote your most radical religious beliefs ("Blessed are the poor," "Blessed are the peacemakers," "Love your enemies," "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God," and "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."). We will let people in other countries know that God doesn't just bless America, he blesses everyone. We will discourage religious intolerance and fanaticism -- starting with the fanaticism here at home, thus setting a good example for the rest of the world.

12. We will not tolerate politicians who are corrupt and who are bought and paid for by the rich. We will go after any elected leader who puts him or herself ahead of the people. And we promise you we will go after the corrupt politicians on our side FIRST. If we fail to do this, we need you to call us on it. Simply because we are in power does not give us the right to turn our heads the other way when our party goes astray. Please perform this important duty as the loyal opposition.

I promise all of the above to you because this is your country, too. You are every bit as American as we are. We are all in this together. We sink or swim as one. Thank you for your years of service to this country and for giving us the opportunity to see if we can make things a bit better for our 300 million fellow Americans -- and for the rest of the world.

Signed,

Michael Moore

I yawned a little when I read this....here's my uneducated and emotional (sans logic) repsonse:

1) Call me what you want. However I do respect a man who has the courage to stand in front of me to acccuse me as opposed to using snide self righteous commentary. You fucking pussy.

2) Not all republicans and or conservatives are out to get you. Some of us don't even care about this issue, but you'd never include our point of view in one of your film projects. So Michael, if you find yourself a nice pretty man who's into sweaty meatball sub munching self edifying selective story telling large size men, may you two be blessed and fullfilled. Who gets to be on top by the way? And would you give him a bite of your sandwich?

3) Please. Yes you will, and no you wont.

4) Every war is based on lies and mistakes. Especially the war your waging Michael. In fact I'd go so far as to say that you personally, are both a HUGE mistake, and a liar.

5) You'll never see universal healthcare in this country, ever. Not that it wouldent be wonderful. But that's just not our style nor has universal ANYTHING, like basic freedoms and dignity and social classes and educational opportunities and civil rights ever existed here. This is America you dimwit. By the way the whole stem cell thing won't happen either, it will always remain "just on the edge of brekathrough". The money is never in the cure Bro.

6) This really will not happen either. Again, not our style. A lofty goal, but its not how things get done here. Wait a minute....unless of course you can TAX my clean air, then I'll reverse my position for fear of being a dumb ass.

7) You fuckin idiot. Osama is probably having cigars and a nice stacked ham and bacon sandwich with Bill and Hillary even as I type this.

8) Really Michael, this is your true passion? When is the movie coming out? I could give a rats ass who you have to pay to fuck. It is my right to beleive in conception as the beginning of life, let the peeple choose, and stop trying to paint yourself as such a champion. You dont care about me Michael, and I dont care about you although I would like to punch you in the throat to see you fight for your own right to live.

9) You try to take away any of my guns and I'll shoot you dead you you lazy Krispy Kreame Nazi of a worthless fuck who's never once defended his country or held the line or put himself in danger and never will. God help us if we EVER have to depend upon a man like you to lead us or defend us and our children in any sort of grave situation. Quick vote: WHO'S RUNNING INTO MICHAEL'S PROTECTIVE DONUT LADEN ARMS WHEN THE SHIT HITS THE FAN? I hear crickets....

10) Raising the minimum wage. OK I'll applaud you for your prowess on that one Michael. That's surely the answer to our coimmon man ills. What does that bring us to, eight, nine bucks an hour or something? That equates to like, a life living in a even bigger cardboard box and feasting on the 12 pack of top ramen instead of the six pack. God bless us, everyone.

12) So.....you just like, did a big bong hit right before you typed this right?

Signed

Steven Urenda

1. I don't recall Gore, Kerry, or Clinton ever pushing a constitutional ban on gay marriage. That's good enough for me, in light of the alternative.

2. Trickle-down is one of many solutions to an ailing economy. It just happens to be the most roundabout and corrupt solution.

3 and 4 really don't apply to me, I guess.

1- Bill Clinton signed the defense of marriage act - it defined marriage as between a man and a woman. John Kerry said "my opinion on the definition of marriage is the same as his" meaning the President. Most democrats feel the same as Republicans about gay marriage.

2- Corrupt? Roundabout? Care to expand on that? Trickle Down is a cheap slogan anyway, supply side and trickle down are not the same things. I mean, I know people like Milton Friedman only won nobel prizes for economics and Alan Greenspan only ran the federal reserve while you worked at Toys R Us, so you would in fact be better at explaining economics than them. Please do explain, I'm always entertained by your posts.

recortrez vous

Hmmm... I only had 2 years of introductory French, but I'm having trouble with that one.

"I'll have you know" = J'aurai vous sait

"For your information" = Pour votre information

"You should recognize" = Vous devez reconnaître

"Listen to me" = M'écouter

Otherwise, I'm a bit lost...

Well congratulations on the contracts.

Anyway I am interested in hearing why supply side theory is corrupt. I live on 14 mile and main, feel free to drop by and borrow some books, If you want to borrow 'capitalism and freedom' you might change your mind about some things. In fact, I know it will, especially when you look at what cutting capital gains taxes has done in several countries from the U.S. to Latin America to former Soviet countries.

I didn't say "supply side theory" was corrupt. I said trickle-down economics in general is more corruptible than putting the same funds into a lean welfare system, for EXTREMELY obvious reasons.

Actually, that's not what I said verbatim, but I don't remember what I said several months ago. Sorry. That's what I was getting at.

If I thought you were serious about lending your books out of your home I might take you up on it.
