How Many Years U Been Going To City Club?

I have been going for about twelve years now. There have been a number of small changes. The music is not as good as it used to be to me, but that might just be because I am getting old now. That and it is much more lit in there, then it used to be (to much so to me). I miss the many times there was barely any lights but the strode on the dance floor. The walls before this paint job used to be a bit more trippy to me. I still enjoy frequenting the establishment though.

Hmm... I've been going there just a couple years or so longer than you. And from day one, I don't remember there every being much attendance by people who appeared outside the "goth/punk norm".

Matter of fact, I can recall there being an ever-changing series of stickers and signs on the front door denouncing the evils of flannels, jocks, and the like. :D Even then, khaki was to a CC regular what a crucifix is to a vampire. :hrhr:

The first person who took me there actually coached me on what to wear, so that I'd "fit in" with the crowd so as not to be intimidated my first time out (I was a lot more reserved & shy back then, and appreciated his input).

anyone i ever went with or met there was not goth at all. some were punk though but most were just sort of... normal but wore like dr martens, jeans and chain wallets. i myself wore stuff like fishnets, thigh highs, skimpy clothes, leather jacket, dark lipstick but that was about it. i definately had my city club wear that i only wore there though. i would NOT be caught dead there in white or anything normal except jeans if i was caught off guard not knowing i was going there and out already without the chance to change. i even turned down going to cc many times cuz i was not "dressed right" i don't care now though i would go in just about anything even if it means getting teased for being so normal.

there were these guys i would always see in suits there too i always wondered about them ;)

then of course there was jill who went in her underwear and the couple who the guy was on a lease and the girl would walk him. also some bride i saw all the time. a goth bride of course. i do miss seeing all the punks and old goths when i go... i know they are still around but i miss it how it was back then to the goth style of today.

anyone i used to go with won't go there anymore. i wish they would i am dying to go back with my old gang of cc friends who think they are too old to go.

I miss seeing guys in suits there. Escher (Dancing Asian Guy) is never there anymore and I miss his presence, he was always nice eye candy. (Buddy, if you're reading this, why don't you go anymore?)

I remember the bride. More than one, actually. Damn, there are a lot of people I'm remembering that don't go anymore.

"Too old"? Never. I'll be going there when I'm 80, dancing with my cane(s). :D

I started in the parking lot for the first year, back when it was fun out there I had no reason or id to go in, besides the not being old enough factor. I think I went to the club in 99 first, and I met my Chuck there, and my current boy at that time, funny, I wouldn't have any of my friends or my son if I hadn't gone there. I even worked there for 3 years (what was I thinking?) even worse in 2000 I lived upstairs with the other old workers, right next to syndell (sp) and Kelly the waitress from the cafe with the red candy colored hair.

About 12 years. I started going when I was sixteen with my fancy shmancy ID from Bob's photo. Is that place still around?

I remember the couches from back then. I think they had the plague, and then they were replaced with other couches, which were just as awful, but in a different way. Like they had flesh eating disease instead.

There was this one guy who didn't dance, exactly, he mostly just hopped and sweated all over people. That was kinda icky. And then there was this guy named Kelly who was beautiful, SO beautiful, but I think he ended up on meth. And then there was the Naked Girl. Well, there were a few, actually, but the one that I first met was a girl named Rachel, and she was naked, of course, but then she went off and got married and had babies and put her clothes on. Shame, really. None of the other naked girls after her could pull off the look like she did.
