Is Demonia The Only Us Company...

Recommended Posts

So, I'm searching online for a pair of platform boots, as it looks like getting a pair from a local store isn't going to pan out.

And thusfar, I've been on about a half dozen websites catering to goth/punk. And every single website has the same platform boots, and they're all by Demonia.

Finally, out of exasperation, checked out pennenglin to see what's available to the Brits. There are a few interesting styles there, but not very different from what's available here.

Am I missing something?

Have you checked out http://www.x-tra-x.de/english/index-htm.html ?

The Germans are pretty pricey, but they have alo of cool stuff

First off, thanks for a link to a very interesting site.

But guess what? They're boots are all Demonias. Same exact styles for sale here in the U.S.

There may be more brands available in other styles. But all the combat/platform/stompy boots are Demonia.

I ended up just buying the two pairs of Demonias that best fit what I was looking for. Not perfect, but they'll have to do. Got a great deal by making an offer to a seller on eBay.

I've been looking at getting a new pair of boots for years. Literally years, because I can't afford the $300 ones that I've always wanted. I'm pretty frustrated with the US selection too, because getting stuff from the UK seems loads more expensive than necessary.

Hey guys, for clubbing you really should go with a half size larger if you want to really dance in those shoes. Feet tend to swell a bit when warm and dancing. If you still feel loose, you could add a spiffy gel insert or wear thicker socks.

Major dittos on that. I wear anywhere from an 8 through a 9 depending on the shoe/boot. Made the mistake of buying my high-heel boots in an 8, which is find for walking & standing around. But when I dance, they start hurting pretty quickly.

The only problem is, I'm finding most brands of boots like Demonia don't come in half sizes. So you actually have to buy them quite a bit larger than your foot if you're going to do this.

Demonias run kinda small across the board, I believe. I bought a pair of 8's offline and once I got them, had to resell them because my toes hit the end of the boot. Just to be sure, I tried on a different pair of 8's at Noir Leather, and sure 'nuff, they fit the same way. Just got a brand-new pair of size 9's in the mail and they fit better length-wise, though width-wise I wish they were more narrow.

The above-mentioned high-heel boots are TUK, their cheaper line sold at Hot Topic. They seem to run more true to size than Demonia.
