You're Looking At

Yup so I just got back from Chicago MEPS. It's all finalized. I joined the ARMY. I will be leaving Jan. 16th for Fort Leonard Wood for basic and AIT. Going in as an 88M (Transportation Operator) for 4 yrs with 16k bonus plus my 37,000 dollars worth of student loans will be paid for by the military. There won't be an enlistment withdrawal this time since my drug test has already been taken and passed. Just had to get clean is all.

I'm just glad it's done and over with. Now I just wait to ship and go to basic. Should be fun, I'm looking forward to it. It's the same place my dad did his basic training when he was in the ARMY, too, so that makes it even cooler.

On another note, expect to see me at CC for New Year's. I plan to get FUBAR and crawl upstairs to a hotel room at 4am. As for right now I have to change a tire on my car and go buy some beer for tonight cuz I'm celebrating.

Good luck Brian. I too recently visited the local Air Force and inquired about the army medics. I'm very close to just saying fuck everyone and signing up.

As opposed to sign up and fuck everyone?

Sorry,

Bad humor

Couldn't help it

We must party City CLub style when you get home and if you want anthing from home shipped that we're allowed to ship...write me!

I'm in the MYSOLDIER program but none of the bastards write back so if you wanna be one of mine I'd be honored.

Lemme know

If somehow I find out my address for Basic I will post it on DGN. If not I'll write my dad and have him post it for me. I don't know how much time they will give me to write letters but I plan on writing a bunch of people. The more mail and support I get the better off I'll be I'm sure. I will make sure I write everyone back at least once a week though.

I can't wait to ship out. If I could have I would have shipped out immediately, but I have to wait. It's ok, it will give me time to prepare physically and mentally. I need to do something about running, but it's cold and icey outside. Need some kind of cardiovascular workout that doesn't involve outdoors. No money for a gym membership either. Hrm.

I'm gradually losing weight though. I should try to lose another 5-10lbs in the next 6 weeks. My recruiter and I are working on getting my pre-basic training task list done which gives me my PFC rank. That involves a few PT tests and some other basic army information.

But anyways, thanks for the support everyone. Hearing stuff like that gives me an extra boost of motivation.
