West and Mid-Michigan people. We need to car pool!

Ok, so I'm sure we are all bitter and annoyed at living out here in the back woods of the Goth scene and if the rest of you are like me you’re probably getting a bit feed up with all the expense of driving and such to get out to the clubs on any regular basis. So I'm proposing that we all consider some kind of car pool scenario to help with costs and provide for drivers following the clubs. I have been regularly fairing people from Lansing down to A2 or Detroit but I was thinking that perhaps the GR people or other West/Mid Michigan people might benefit by a little resource sharing. Being that its almost all highway to the clubs doesn’t seem too difficult to imagine meeting at some roadside car pool place and riding together. Thoughts anyone?

There is a rideboard that I've heard of. However the person who runs it seems to hate me, so I no longer actively support it. Just a thought.

I already post on it and no one ever ever ever reads the damn thing. Most of the post are a year or more old so it's kind of a waste, but every little bit helps.

There does seem to be a lot of people in need of some sort of a ride from time to time, good idea, ill try to drag some people i know that live a bit far from D town into this thread if they dont show up on their own. ;D

The rideboard thing is dead (was a website, rarely visited), i used to talk to her allot too and encouraged her to keep it active, didnt happen. Then i tried to talk her into moving it to DGN and i would help her keep it active, that didnt happen either.

A lot of the problem with the "meet & greet / ride / gathering / hangout" stuff is it doesnt have a central, continuing, always-up location, lots of well intentioned ideas spring up, and then die. I try to get these guys to come to DGN so we can help them, but often they want to "go it alone" and when they stop working on it, theres no one around to pick up the slack on their personally-run sites.

Hrmm... maybe some sort of broadcast message about "need a ride?" or a pinned topic, or a sub section or.. hrmm, maybe just something as simple as i was saying "need a ride? ask here?" so people know they are welcome to ask.

On the weekends, I come down after work Friday and stay through until Sunday most of the time. Since most others don't want to do this, car pooling dosn't usually work. Now, % did love Necto and would LOVE to go on Mondays.. Luna on Wednesdays is also something I'd like to do more of. I work late in the day so it is doable for me if I do a down and back thing. If I had a ride buddy/gas sharer it could be done. If anyone is interested in this let me know!

Nienna! we need to talk

I usually stay with my boyfriend a couple times a month when I don't have my girls, so I have been driving down on Friday after work too (usually every other weekend) and back Sunday so maybe we could share a ride now and then. I do often drive back late Sunday though (as late as 8, but since you aren't as far away as I am maybe that would work out okay a couple times a month). I'd love some company on that late drive back. It's a long boring trip alone, even with my music to keep me company.

On the weeks I don't have my girls I might want to make a trip out during the week too, depending on how I can work it out. It'd mean hell the next day at work but dammit, I'm bored enough to do without sleep now and again to actually have something to look forward to during the week.
