Adams Family Vs Munsters

Hehe I watched both shows after school on channel 50 throughout the '70s, & I gotta say the Addams Family had a much higher level of humor. The Munsters was funny but it was strictly cliche sitcom humor. The Addams Family managed to sneak in some genuine subversion here & there. Plus they were such a tight family... most sitcoms of that era, 3/4 os the storylines revolved around someone trying to deceive another character. But the Addamses were always joining together to support whatever member had a problem. And as Onyx mentioned, the mom & dad defied all the negative stereotypes about married life that were so prevalent in sitcoms.

That said, the Munsters get points for visiting Detroit in one episode!
