I Got Teeth Pulled Today.

Sip liquids, nothing too cold or too warm until the nerves settle down. Cut back on smoking if you smoke. A dentist told me that smoking can lead to dry socket which is really painful.

Not smoking is VERY important! I used to work at a dental clinic and believe me a dry socket is something to avoid at all costs. Also, for 24 hours after an extraction don't drink anything through a straw or spit... both can dislodge the clot and cause a dry socket.

Did you really get your teeth pulled the day before me? Fuckin' crazy.

But yeah, avoid hot stuff, smoking, etc. And take some anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen or tylenol, or whatever your dentist suggests. I actually got some vics for mine, but i've been trying to take it easy on those... they're way too much fun to be medicine. =/

and don't stress yourself out. any kind of tension makes the pain worse.

Yeah I got vics also. But I don't like them cause they make me sick to my stomach even if I eat before taking them. I'm gonna try and get darvecet next time.

for substance, I drank Slim Fast....or other liquid health drinks.

I couldn't even open my mouth, and swallowing pulled on the stiches.....

so it was the best I could do.

Yeah....you HAVE to eat before Vic's......ugh....

Dilute your meds in water so you can drink them.

I did that, and it seemed to help, cause you don't have to down it all at once...you can kind of self administer amounts to your own tolerance.

that way you don't get sick.

After a few days, you'll have more pain in the jaw than anything.

IBpro or whatever can kick that.

Sleep it off.

That helps too.

=)
