I have no desire to watch someone die.

Frodo: It's a pity Bilbo didn't kill him when he had the chance.

Gandalf: Pity? It was pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many.

Saddam was an evil person who murdered a lot of innocent people. I think he will spend a long time in hell for what he did. I dont know if i would want to watch him die....seeing death actually take place would spook me. I am happy that there is less evil in this world now. I am just afraid of what his foolwers will do next.

Nope, not for me. I have mixed emotions already about whether I am for or against Capital punishment. Sometimes I do feel that it is appropriate. But I do know that loss of any life is not something that I feel should be celebrated, ridiculed or used for entertainment purposes. However, if I had family killed by him, seeing it would aid with closure.

Televising or making the tape available for those who CHOOSE to watch it may have some historical educational/deterrent effect though it is not likely to be a great deterrent with the idea of Martyrdom (is that a word) being thrown around.
