Weekly , Regular , Goth/Industro Nights

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to get all the "regular goth/industro club nights" sorted out and listed properly on the calendar in the Metro detroit area. (even ann arbor is pushing it a bit far west but it seems fair to include it)

Heres a weekly view of the calendar:

http://www.detroitgothic.net/index.php?act...week=1110501952

The corprate summary:

Monday - Nectarine

Tuesday - Nothing

Wednesday - Luna or Mephistos

Thursday - Labyrinth

Friday - Luna or City Club

Saturday - Luna or City Club

Sunday - Nothing

We missing anything ? Any of the above not correct?

Yeah Luna's 80's night is on the calendar (click on that link above in my topic post) why exactly i dont know, as there is like 900 80's nights all over town, probably could find an 80's night every night of the week, maybe 2 or 3 clubs a night, and while i do like 80's music im not sure its relevant to "the scene" particuarly.

Weelky View Link (same as above)

Somone else on this board listens to LC? O.o I rember posting about him on the old DGN and the thread went over like a lead ballon. heh

I also used to sneak him onto my 89.3 FM show back in the day and rarely did anyone ever seem to like it much. :unhappy:

You forgot Mephisto's on Saturdays. Though it's not strictly industrial people still have a lot of fun. Also it's only the second floor that isn't industrial, the first floor is goth/industrial/EBM/synthpop all night long.

I've added in the entry though, with modified information from the site (which I need to go and update on the site now too).

I've been shamelessly in love with Leonard Cohen since I was 16 and my boyfriend sent me off on my trip to visit relatives in Florida with his copy of Songs of Love and Hate and Songs of Leonard Cohen. I came back into town and immediately got my own copies of those and everything else (besides Death of a ladies Man, which I have issues with. But that's Phil Spector's fault.)

Depends on what kind of 80's music that is played.  Can we hear Sisters of Mercy, Concrete Blonde, Nitzer ebb, Front 242?????

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yeah don't forget The Cure, Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, Shriekback, old Ministry, Fad Gadget, Gary Numan, etc...

Lots of New Wave/synthpop stuff fits in with the goth movement. I've been schooling myself a bit lately with some of the older music I've just run into. A few things I didn't even know existed but thuroughly enjoy come to mind :D You can read my playlists for them.

Depesh Mode? Nitzer Ebb? Sisters? The Cure? Front 242? Ministry? Concrete Blonde?? Who the heck is that?

 As if i didnt know there was goth/industro 80s music. sheesh, im old remember? I've been bitched at in the past for my playlists being to pre-90s heavy in the past actually.

That is , clearly 80s night, as in, as in pop music of the 80s , 80s night. Go have a look at the billings for it. Sure a few random "relevant" songs may slip in. Same would be for any 80s night of the 900 different 80s nights across SE mich.
