Careerbuilder Umm.. I don't know any other general ones... art and design fields tend to have their own niche sites. Good luck to ya. Out of state may be the way to go short term. Onyx
Posting on message boards is actually a great idea because you never know who is reading. Tell everyone you know too. Seems like a lot of jobs are never put out on job sites because hiring is done from someone's recommendation. Networking does work. It might help to post a few details about what type of position you want.

I feel ya... altho I would actually love to relocate ...there are tons of teaching jobs in the south & southwest- I recently saw one Orlando high school offering a $9k signing bonus... but the deal I got on my house prevents that. You might try some sites that are specific to your particular field. Also try the State of Michigan website, keeping in mind that the various departments often post jobs on their own pages rather than on the main state jobs/civil service page. For example I just applied for two jobs teaching in the prison system... neither one was listed on the civil service page or on METB (education branch of MTB). Good luck! n0Mad
keeping in mind that the various departments often post jobs on their own pages That reminded me of my current strategy. I use places like Yahoo's HotJobs to see what business are in the area I'm looking at, and then go to each business's individual websites. On those sites I search through for the jobs they offer. I tend to get better listings that way than all the crap jobs listed in the paper and stuff. The Chamber of Commerce website is a great place for scoping businesses in your target community too. pharoh
I've gotten a couple bites, but nothing major so far, anyone else got any site suggestions?
LadyWindstone
You can try Snagajob.com too. Mostly hourly jobs and from what I saw mostly Home Depot. But hey they are jobs.
