You'll be back gothmamma... you always come back. For you know that even if an ex may be harassing you or whatever drama is going on, that normally you're amongst friends that look out for one another, there's the initial panic, but after a bit you'll realize there's no need to freak out.

I'm done being accused of lying and since noone listens when I do try to explain things, I'm outta here cause I didn't do anything to deserve this. Its some straight up bull shit. I doubt anyone will even care anyways. All I know is I deserve better than this.

First of all, if you didn't hate yourself for the reasons you get treated poorly, the mistreatment wouldn't affect you. Take ME, for example... I get shit heaped upon shit all the time, most of which I probably deserve, but I'm not insecure about my abrasive personality.

But if the opinions of other people bother you anyway, make yourself accountable for their reactions. Trust me, your behavior is a factor in how you're treated on this board.

Thats a joke. I LOVE myself more than life it self. Secondly noone deserves to be treated in such a disrespectful and down right cruel way.

True. Giving in to harassment NEVER makes it stop... it just gratifies the person's desire to hold power over you.

I agree. You speak very ambiguously much of the time and it's hard to know exactly what your grievances are. This community is capable of great sympathy and supportiveness, but people need to know what's going on before they can respond to your concerns appropriately and/or effectively. For my part, I don't spend a lot of time IMing about board gossip, I don't hit City or the other clubs every weekend, and I don't have time to keep up with every single thread... so if you are referring to something that someone has said or done to you, but are not spelling out what it was, I have no way of knowing what you're talking about.

Just as an example, I'm not at all clear what you meant by "I'm done being accused of lying and since noone listens when I do try to explain things..." Are you referring to the 2nd identity thing from a while ago, or the current issue of your ex stalking you? If it's the latter, seems to me several people tried to share their thoughts on that ... some good advice was given. The fact that it may not have been what you wanted to hear doesn't mean that anyone is being cruel or disrespectful... it means that we respect you enough to give you straight speech instead of just saying "oh, you poor baby" which may stroke the ego but ultimately solves nothing.

Of course, you might have been referring to some entirely unrelated issue... the point is, if you don't communicate effectively, we can't know.

Are the moderators here not resposnsible for protecting people from verbal insults? Each day that I have logged onto this site since I have registered Brassfusion has insulted someone and from what others have told me it is not anything new. What are the moderators responsibility as far as enforcing the rules of detroitgothic.net? Read rule Number 3, does Brassfusion comply with this rule? If not, and if no one requires brassfusion to comply, why should anyone stay here?

Another from today:

"If everyone left who was insulted by Brassfusion this site would have no members"

What are the responsibilty of the moderators when one person causes this much distress? It seems I may not be the first person to leave because of Brassfusion. I'll come back once you sort it out.

Opinionated people push each others buttons.

Her views on affirmative action upset me, because I'm a big supporter of it.

In the end, though she's one person. So, who the f*&(k cares??

I'm sure there are three or four (or more) that agree with her.

That's why we have different political parties.

That's why we have elections

We live in a republic.

This board is even more egalitarian.

DGN is a democracy.

Everyone can say what they want, vote for whoever their fave punk band is, start their own topics.

If three or four people dictated to a whole community, we'd have a big problem.

And I guarantee, when I spouted my views, a few PMs got batted around.

I havent even met her, but I feel like the goddamn ACLU, standing up if no one else is.

SERIOUSLY, you got something you want to say to BF, send her a PM like I did.

You feel attacked, send a PM to a moderator.

Otherwise, on behalf of all the independent-minded, opinionated people who sometimes say things that doesn't jive with group-think,

STOP FLAMING!

This is ridiculous.

I have my PM's turned off just for this reason. Anyone who wants to send me stuff can take the time to open an actual e-mail application and write something there.

I hate forum drama, and now I can understand why she wants an IP check (though I still think it's legit).

First of all, if you have a problem with someone ... you can do a few things.

1. IGNORE - There is a nifty little IGNORE button to use at your disposal.

2. BRING IT UP WITH THEM - Don't publicly out some one, PM them instead.

3. BRING IT UP WITH THE MODS - Contrary to what is said here, it DOES get dealt with and handled, you just can't see it because the mods don't publicly out anyone.

And last but least ...

4. LEAVE - It's a public board, you have the right to come and go as you please. Don't like it here? No one is making you post.

*sigh* Five years of America Online Moderator training has taught me that.

Ignore is stupid on a forum though. I hate this option since they can still bitch about your posts, you just can't see it. Like on IRC there is this asshole who always insults me every chance he gets just to fuck with me because it amuses him. I had him on ignore for a while but then got over it when I figured out he can still see what I'm typing and make fun of that. Then I have no option for defending my viewpoints or my honor (whatever that is worth online).

No I'll stick to just /killing him off the server whenever I please. It's fun to be an IRCOP :)
