Kitsu's Plea

Hi, my name is Kitsune! That's Japanese for a shapeshifting fox trickster, by the way. I am currently very unhappy because I've been banished to a cold, lonely basement where I can't play with my three grown-up children. I was exiled to the basement because I keep peeing on our Mama's bed... but I'm really not a bad kitty! If I lived in a bigger house where I got more attention and didn't have these kids of mine around (for some reason they just won't leave home! It's crazy!) I wouldn't have to use such drastic methods to get Mama's attention.

I am a beautiful (if I say so myself) 6 year old blue longhair kitty. Some people think I look like a miniature Maine Coon! I love to play and hunt outside, and in fact one reason I'm upset lately is 'cos it's sooo cold and Mama won't make it be warm so I can stay outside longer without my paws getting chilly! I mean, I have a nice warm coat, but when your paws get cold there's just nothing you can do, is there? Anyway, I am spayed and had all my shots in the spring of '06. I am a very sweet and affectionate kitty... I love to sit on Mama's lap while she works on the computer. I do need a fair amount of grooming because of my lovely long coat, but I enjoy being brushed and combed so it's no problem for my humans to do it. I get along OK with other cats and have spent time around dogs (I had a beagle playmate when I was younger- get Mama to tell you about the Chair Game I used to play with Boots!), but I would really prefer to live with one other kitty at most. I haven't spent a lot of time around children but I guess they're OK as long as they don't pull my tail or anything like that! The only real requirement for a new home is that I absolutely have to be able to spend time outside or I will be very unhappy. I don't care what those shelter-type humans say- cats shouldn't have to be cooped up indoors 24-7!

I hope some nice human will give me a new home. Mama says I gotta go 'cos she can't afford to buy a new down comforter and feather bed again. I am really supposed to live with my daddy, but... well, you know how that is sometimes. Mama really doesn't want to leave me at the shelter where bad things happen to kitties, but if daddy doesn't come get me soon she just won't have any choice. I know some other human out there wants a beautiful, loving Kitsu-Kitty for their very own, so call Mama and come get me soon!
