Seems like every picture I see of a DGN'er there's a cigarette involved. Just curious as to the ratio of smokers to non-smokers in our little peer group.

The last line is qualified as such to eliminate those of us who experimented as kids, etc. Even I smoked a handful in my time, but was never a "smoker".

Jon lied (we met online) and said he didn't smoke. Once we got together face-to-face, the truth came out.

I was pretty pissed - I'm militant anti-smoking, particularly since I've been borderline asthmatic since the late 80's. Doesn't take much to tip me into wheezing territory.

I'd make him brush his teeth after every cigarette or I wouldn't kiss him.

He quit cold-turkey within about 4 months. Hasn't smoked a single cigarette in 6 years. Huzzah, Jon!

In retrospect, it was a good lie. I might not have bothered with him otherwise.

Ditto Shade Everdark!

I'm a severe asthmatic..... I smoke socially.. on breaks at work and at the club.. almost never at home unless I'm upset.. maybe 2 packs a week at MOST..... and I willl continue this indefinately... because I feel no addiction to it.. I can (and have) stop for months.

^^ yeah i don't feel addiction to it either. never have. i stop for years at a time then pick it up again when i am around people who smoke heavily. it starts with me bumming some then buying my own for when i go out. my husband is annoyed that i "smoke" again cuz i will "bum" them from him now. he says you are not a smoker we can't afford for you to smoke too. well then quit and i won't take them from you. :wink :

I can't say I’m a cigarette smoker but I do love an occasional cigar or clove from time to time. I haven't ever really smoked outside of social situations but I see nothing wrong with it for those that do. I'm more adept to light a cigar up over an Irish whisky at a local pub then anything.
