my birthday was 6 months ago. :) but thanks!

since a number of folks from here abouts have asked me on various occasions "where have i been" heres a short(ish) answer:

two years ago, i resolved to get a divorce. that took awhile. as of late january 08, i am (finally and officially) divorced.

this is a good thing.

but as an aside, should any of you fine folks find yourselves being divorced in wayne county and happen to end up with a Judge Arthur Lombard of the wayne county 3rd circuit court RUN. at the very least, youll have my sympathies. words cannot describes the willful ignornace and abuse of the law that is judge lombard.

anyway, i got lucky enough to have at least joint custody (apparently a feat in wayne county michigan for a father).

so ive been pretty busy handling the kid on my weeks.

also, in the process of teh divorce, in order to avoid wrongful arrest, i was "obliged" to move out of my house. she ultimately was awarded the house and promptly ceased making payments for the next 14 months. so ive also had to go through foreclosure (even though she was awarded the house, the banks refused to remove my name).

so ive had alot of time to talk to lawyers, judges, collections agencies and the like.

of course, foreclosure has prompted me to have to take further steps for my financial and legal well-being, so im now busy with that.

not to mention the pending student loans. speaking of which, i managed to finally graduate in april 08. yay me. unfortunately, my degree is of no direct worth, as i didnt keep up with the details of a program and a few key steps were missed (my own fault in the end). so ive been looking for a "real" job. that didnt pan out, so i negociated a new position with my current company. short term its the same or worse pay, but higher potential. its also more desk and less physical, which is good too. im not 21 anymore. ;)

the whole housing thing has had me in a quasi-transitory state. technically speaking, i fit the definition of "homeless," the ive recently moved into my folks house. its pretty sad, but it was the only viable option i had.

all that said, i am MUCH better off than 2 years ago. i had 10 years of self-destructive and ignorant living before that, so its a pretty big hole to crawl out of. but im getting there. im alot happier, healthier and getting back on track with MY life.

and yes, in january 08 i cut my hair off and shaved my beard. i needed a real job. :p

thanks for the birthday wishes and such. its nice to know that people think of you. ill try to pop in now and then.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had a rough couple of years. I'm glad you're doing well though. Hang in there. Good to see you posting on the board again.

I HATE Wayne County. I REALLLLLLLLY do.

I'm sorry. I've been in a similar situation with the house thing. During my last divoce, he bought a house, but my name had to be put on it. I did a quit claim deed, but he never filed it before it went into forclousre.

That was a mess, but that was here in Washtenaw and much easier to deal with than my ongoing case in Wayne County, which I am being dragged to another hearing on Monday over.

    • Well it happened, understandably but it still sucks.  I hated them both so I was going to be unhappy either way, but I do admit I hate Trump slightly more because of the narcissism, egomania, xenophobia, and misogyny.  On top of that that insufferable base of his who think that they are free to act the same way now that he's won.  The apologetics from them were horrible too where they handwaved away legitimate criticisms, and mocking those who brought them with "orange man bad!"   The one good thing to come out of this is punk music is going to absolutely rock for the next few years.  However I really just have one question... https://www.loudersound.com/features/andrew-eldritch-sisters-of-mercy-will-make-another-album-if-trump-is-elected IT'S HAPPENED TWICE NOW ANDY, WHERE'S OUR FUCKIN' ALBUM‽ Well, I guess at least I'll get to keep my guns.

    • Nope. Not that I mind singing, but I don't want to scare attendees with a rendition of that.
