For your bday: paradox from the urban dictionary....which I love.....but......I disagree with number 4. A full glass of beer is always better. If you don't know that.....how can you be goth.

So in honor of your bday I will go have a beer right now. Heh.

Read below.

The below statement is false.

The above statement is true.

A situation which theoretically should not be able to exist but in reality does; a self-contradiction.

You have to have a permit to drive a car, but you can't get a permit until you've driven a car--that's a paradox.

Something that is both right and wrong. Something that contradicts itself, and usu. thereby proves a thesis by refutation or instantiation.

If I went back in time and killed my mother, then I would be dead. But I would never have been able to go back in time to kill my mother if I died.

A sound logical argument leading to a logical absurdity.

Here is a paradox:

4) Nothing is better than a glass of beer.

A half-glass of beer is better than nothing.

Therefore, a half-glass of beer is better than a glass of beer.

A phrase that contradicts itself.

I always lie

1: Something that contradicts itself , eg:

You need A to get B. You cant get A without having B.

2: A popular Hacking/Cracking team which makes keygens and warez. Their programs often have catchy techno loops in the background.

1: You need a to get to B.

You cant get A without having B.

2: I always use Paradox, for keygens and cool shit. They are so leet, but you dont hear much from em anymore. =/

the other examples were pretty confusing, so heres an oldie:

dont think its exactly what they mean though.

Two men on an island. One always lies. One always tells the truth. you meet one of them. they say: "im the liar

That's what's known as a 'time paradox'.

Technically you wouldn't be 'dead'. You wouldn't exsist to be claimed 'dead'.

Hypothetically speaking, if you went back into time and killed your mother, the you that killed her would just fade away at the exact moment your mother's hearbeat stopped. Because a you would have to stay in existance long enough to assure your mothers death in order for you to not exsist. There has to be a start and an end. The you that goes back to kill your mother would be both. You are the first you to go back in time to kill your mother, and as soon as she dies you will be the last. Because after that moment you no longer exsist.

Does that make sense?

I am an expert on theories on time traveling and time paradoxes. At least I think I am lol.
