trip to Europe

I've been toying with the idea of taking a trip to Europe after I graduate. I'm thinking England, since I don't yet speak German or any other foreign language.. I'm hoping to go for less than 4,000 dollars, by myself.. Anyone else gone on vacation to England? Any suggestions on how I go about planning the trip? I've never been outside of the country, and I've never planned a vacation myself, so any advice would be helpful.

Everyone in Germany speaks English. Heck, my taxi driver in Berlin was from England. Spain's supposed to be pretty nice, too. I'd go to Spain. Ah well. Having schlepped through Poland and Germany knowing none of the language, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Then again, the U.K. would be a good vacation, too.
