Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains

Recommended Posts

Picked up one of each color. Used lipstains in the past, and they didn't work for me because they bled outside my lipline too much. (I do not do lipliner.)

These are great thusfar. Only used them a couple times, but no big problem with bleeding.

If you don't know anything about lip stains, basically that's just what they are. It's like if you took cherry juice and painted it on your lips. You don't get a thick color like lipstick. They can be very bright, and honestly, these are no exception. I recommend going one shade darker than you'd like. Definitely top with something like a good lip balm (Burt's Bees is my fave) or subtle gloss.

They're really good if you want a very subtle application of color rather than go out totally makeup-free. I use them when I just plain don't feel like having lipstick on. Like a trip to the grocery store, etc.

My only complaint on these is the roll-on applicator. I have decently defined cupids bow lips, and it's really difficult to not go "outside the lines" with this kind of applicator. They would have done better with a sponge tip or brush. I've used ones with brushes before and didn't like them, but it was better than a roller ball.

Stains are meant to be used very conservatively. I apply mine to my bottom lip, do the pucker-to-spread-to-upper-lip-thing (which really doesn't make a lot of sense - your upper lip is shaped differently than the bottom, but with stains, it helps keep the amount applied to a minimum), then touch-up the upper parts that didn't get stain from the bottom lip - and then blot with tissue. Before I apply any kind of top coat, I try to make sure the stain itself has been blotted to a minimum, and completely dried.

Sounds more complicated than it is. It helps to do your base makeup first (foundation, blush, powder) then apply the stain to your lips so that it can dry while you're doing your eye make-up. Then finish those lips.

Again, they're not for everybody. But I only wear all-day lipsticks which are, by nature, stiff and dry. Some days - especially warm days when I'm going to be outside in the sun - I just don't feel like having that thickness on my lips. Stains are a good alternative.

I like a few things from Revlon's new limited line. I picked up Cherry Tart, Plum wicked and blood Orange in the lip stain. I haven't used the blood orange yet but the others are awesome. As Bren said lip stain and so gloss and I'm good to go!!!

The lash jewels in sapphire blue. Which I love, it takes them a while to dry but when they do they add that extra kick to you lashes..... =)

The molten Metal liquid shadow in Scene Steel-er, which I can't stand .. it's awful.

And Diamond Lush sheer shadow that is just as awful as the liquid shadow, don't waste your money girls, it may look pretty but the shadow blends horribly, even with primer doesn't hold well, and really aren't that cheap. For 2 $ more you can get a fabulous shadow from MAC that will do you right =).
