now now, guys, it's really inappropriate to celebrate his demise like this. i, for one, am disappointed at the news of his death.

i was hoping he'd die in a really tragic and ironic way, like, getting struck by lightning on a clear day, or having a cross fall on him, or maybe catching AIDS.

But who are we to judge after all? If we decide he deserves to go to hell... we are no different then he is, are we?

Yes, we're different.

We're more observant.

And less likely to throw stones based on skewed, hypocritical pseudo-morality.

Difference between judging for judgment's sake and seeing what a person does and recognizing the overall bad/good in it.

He was an intolerant, hypocritical blowhard jerkoff. Good riddence.

I'm not happy he's dead.

I wish he could have seen the error of his ways, and I wish he could have been closer to the spirit of his Jesus, rather than the letter.

Failing that, I cannot call it a bad thing that the man is gone. There's one less dominionist pharisee in the world to make things harder than they already are.

Now, when Pat Robertson dies, party at my place.

agreed - i'm embarassed to admit, when i first heard/saw it, my first thoughts were, "good!" and "so?", almost simultaneously... it's sad when anyone dies, but all i could think was "one less hate-monger in the world"

i hope he's at peace...

Wow...Anna Nicole Smith, now Jerry.

Seriously, isn't anyone on this board sad when someone dies? Even someone they don't like?

I am.

“If you're not a born-again Christian, you're

a failure as a human being”

“Textbooks are Soviet propaganda”

“(re: 9/11 attacks) "...throwing God out of

the public square, out of the schools, the abortionists have got to bear some

burden for this because God will not be mocked and when we destroy 40 million

little innocent babies, we make God mad...I really believe that the pagans and

the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are

actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the

American Way, all of them who try to secularize America...I point the thing in

their face and say you helped this happen."”

"AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals."

"The idea that religion and politics don't mix was invented by the Devil to keep Christians from running their own country."

"It appears that America's anti-Biblical feminist movement is at last dying, thank God, and is possibly being replaced by a Christ-centered men's movement which may become the foundation for a desperately needed national spiritual awakening."

"The Jews are returning to their land of unbelief. They are spiritually blind and desperately in need of their Messiah and Savior. "

"I do not believe the homosexual community deserves minority status. One's misbehavior does not qualify him or her for minority status. Blacks, Hispanics, women, etc., are God-ordained minorities who do indeed deserve minority status."

Just a few reasons I am NOT sad that he has died.

My cat, my aunt, my godfather, my dog, my brother, even Ronald Reagan - I was saddened when they died. (Reagan in particular when I saw Nancy in her genuine, deep grief at his casket, damn, how I cried.)

I don't feel sorry for anyone who wastes their life with hedonistic stupidity (Anna Nicole Smith) or bigoted, intolerant hate mongering.

Bout fucking time :peanutbutterjellytime :peanutbutterjellytime :peanutbutterjellytime :happydance:happydance:happydance:animier::animier::animier::fun::fun::fun: One less person to hate in the world.

Well glad you're so happy about it, I guess that just leaves the rest of the world left now right?

I cracked open a beer when I heard the news, that's good enough for me.

But who are we to judge after all? If we decide he deserves to go to hell... we are no different then he is, are we?

Very true, though I would find it interesting if there was a religeon that's afterlife belife of where you went was actually based on the judgement of everyone you've met in your life. From it was a small one time encounter, to a rather large importance of family. I'd wonder if that would shape anyone up.

I'm not happy he's dead.

I wish he could have seen the error of his ways, and I wish he could have been closer to the spirit of his Jesus, rather than the letter.

Unfortunately, from what I've observed.. no one that self blinding will ever allow themselves to see the error of their ways... it's a futile thing to hope for. I just care about what counts, he's dead now. Whether he woke up and smelled the roses before death is irrelevant, what matters is he's not around anymore to vomit his stupidity down anymore throats.

Well, with how bad the level of intolerance has become in present day, I'm not surprised. Yet the people you mentioned weren't really any positive influence on society. Anna Nicole was a self absorbed piggly gold digger junkie. And Jerry Falwell was a religious nut job.

Nothing... I mean nothing, could EVER make up for accusing a fictional, ASEXUAL, INFANT ORIENTED, costumed TV character... a teletubbie... of being gay... that by far takes the cake of the DUMBEST mode of thought process anyone could ever muster... George W. Bush couldn't even reach a stupidity level of that level! The level of stupidity for even thinking that, and going public about it in such a mad tyrade is, INFINITE STUPIDITY. Thus, no amount of good things and/or smart things could EVER balance out the retard effect of this... yet did he try? no... He kept the ball rolling by doing even more stupid things. It really makes me embarassed to be a part of the human race...

Why the hell couldn't I have just been a cat... do what the hell i want and have a whole friggin family as my own personal slaves like I was a king, and I'd get to kill birds without getting in trouble too... god I really friggin hate birds... but that's just a whole different can of worms...

biased, yes. extreme, yes. hurtful, yes. Self aware? yes.

I'm not sorry when anyone dies. Death is a natural part of existance. It happens to everyone.

On the other hand I pretty much grew up in a cemetary, even worked at one for 8 years. I'm prolly desensitized to death.
