Verbal Abuse (chuckle...)

Ok so im not sure if this should go in Music, or Fashion (or even politics/sociology) but i refuse to make an other stuff post so...

I ventured out of the house (GASP!!) to my old haunt 89.3 FM (college radio station) and so im sitting there in the weekly meeting....

She says to this other woman, right in front of like 20 people: (note these two dont know each other)

"You have good taste in music... i wouldn't have thought that with the way your dressed." (The sort of "alternative" looking one says to the "teacher" looking one. Both probably in their early 30s)

In this girls defense she did apologize and say it came out wrong but still. Omg. Its so bad/rude ... i been laughing for like 8 hours.

Its bad for me to think thats funny right? Right??:hope: :hope: :hope:

Hemm... I wouldn't have even thought to take offense, honestly. That's because I'm used to people giving off that vibe to me. I mean typically people meet -me- and think 'Straight hip-hop/Gangsta', but when they get to know me they often say things amounting to the same sentiment.

::SRHUG:: I guess one could say I'm desensitized.

It wasn't the assumption on her part that made it ... er shocking. It was the fact that shed just blurt it out in front of X number of unknown listeners.

We all have politically incorrect or "insensitive" ideas, but we dont typically blurt them out in the middle of a crowded room.

I guess this is more of a social thing than anything really to do with music or fashion.

Sometimes, I think as a society we are becoming more and more insensitive to the feelings of others. Some people think I'm "too nice" though. Oh well, I'm sure the "teacher" looking one had plenty of ideas about the other twit that weren't too flattering.

I am curious about the meeting itself.

Were you looking into starting up the Troy Spiral radio show again?

For the record, people I have played your CDs for, enjoyed the comps .. majority gave 2 thumbs up.
