Music That Not Enough People Listen To

Grrr...And One damnit!

I've been trying to download their music on limewire for ages, and the only one anyone ever has is Military Fashion Show, which don't get me wrong, it's amazingly sassy, but they do have much sassier music than just that song. You enter most other fruity German industrial bands, even ones that are more rare, and they'll at least come up with a few songs, which tells me their under-heard. I've been looking for Get You Closer for like a year now, and Sometimes also, but settled on having it on my myspace because the band has a myspace and you can add their music.

No. I'll just force you to listen to some of what's on mine. :-P

Never mind that now. I went searching for a bit of info on some old German electronic bands I used to listen to; Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft (DAF) and Robert Gorl(Who was part of DAF at times).

There's some more recent stuff on YouTube for DAF, including this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=XdlAqt4R21U Sounds pretty recent... not as spare as there old stuff, but damn cool.

Guest Megalicious

I agree with Meg about the Dirtbombs, and with Masey about Neubauten (of course!).

I've got more, but I start to feel like I'm just showing off after awhile, and that nobody really picks any of this stuff up anyway.

I pick up on this shit, especially your list because I know you have impeccable taste.

I've got the video for that.

Listen to enough And One and you'll see that they are not all that disimiliar from each other.

Quite true, kind of like Combichrist in that respect. It might as all just be the same song.

Personally I don't think people listen to enough actual Gothic music.

People also don't listen to enough of MY music http://radio.thedeadsociety.com:8001

His voice is raw.. like his feelings have been living in his throat tearing away at him for so long.. and yet he got them out despite them. he won!

yea so i am a dork over tom waits.. make it rain.

As for bands more closely related to the scene that are severely undervalued (at least in the current generation)

Einsturzende Neubauten

Oh good.. E.N. got the recognition.

This is one that I was going to list....

Out of curriosity if we could take a sec..

Who is an E.N. enthusiast?

..show of hands?????????????

I fell in love with them at 18.. I am curious who else is a fan. (and a fave song if ya feel like it..)

Blixa Bargeld is the master.

Daaaw, thanks, Meg!

Crap, I was going to say something else music-related and I've totally forgotten.

I love Tom Waits. I was going to just silently agree with everyone on this but I just remembered something about him that was totally worth sharing. Back in the mid 80's I bought a tape called "Stay Awake". it was a bunch of Disney tunes re-done by a crazy spectrum of artists. The Replacements, Suzanne Vega, Sinead O'Connor, etc... Tom Waits was amongst them and did the coolest version of the 7 Dwarfs marching song ever!! You can probably imagine....

You can still get it: http://www.amazon.com/Stay-Awake-Various-I...e/dp/B000002GFM
