I just realized I did'nt do this, so my apologies to any who may have found it rather rude.

I currently reside out in the country, near a small town called Hudson. I grew up in Detroit, all over the metropolitan area actually. I am a union tile setter out of local 1 in Detroit. the last High School I attended was Henry Ford High off of 7 mile and greenfield in Detroit (not Dearborn). As a father of 3 for ten years now, I still find my self in aww that I am someones dad lol. I am newly divorced and am trying to figure out this whole single thing again. eight years ago this task would have been easy, but Ive grown so much (or just settled in my ways?) that I'm having a hard time adjusting. As you may have read in an earlier post, I like to hunt and raise my own food. I also like to fish and camp. most of all I like to hang out with my Children, also reading, writing, playing my guitar, gaming, the typical stuff. I found DGN from a rather nasty comment in the Detroit city club forum and have found i enjoy this community alot more. I hav'nt been to leland since 89' but, i have a long time friend who still goes there frequently. which led me to find that other board and in turn led me to this wonderful community.

Thanks to DBK for the DGN 2.0 I saw on an other post. (made this a little easier, I'm not used to introducing my self)

Hi to troy who's comment on my profile (as well as the other 17 viewers) helped me to realize my folly in not doing this earlier.

My humblest regards.

Hi Vim,

That there was a kick ass intro post. I think the secret to a good intro post is just to think about it for more than 5 seconds, which you obviously did. Definitely nothing particularly rude about NOT posting an intro , but its friendly/nice when people do. Also there seem to be a direct corralation between people posting intro posts, and sticking around.

Your comment about DBKs post is interesting. I never really thought about the intro posts as being something that wouldn't occur to people. Hrmm.. maybe i should setup some sort of automatic PM that goes to new people with a basic explanation about DGN and a suggestion that they might want to post an intro , and where to post it. *ponders*

I'm always curious as to the process by witch someone goes from "knowing about DGN" to actually "posting" , rarely is it a straight "i heard about it.. then i rushed right over and started posting." heh. Its a bit mystical and seems different for almost everyone.

"Negative comment on DCC" haha. Just goes along with my half-joking "there's no such thing as bad publicity!" mantra. :band:laugh:

Just because I'm a nut and like such things i went and looked up Hudson, Mi. I'd never heard of it before. There is website analytics for DGN that shows were people visit from , and it looks like its in the Bermuda Triangle from which no data ever returns of Adrian, Coldwater and Jackson. This means nothing, just some random nerd thing i did.

Anyhow welcome to the place, hopefully you will stick around. If you have any trouble let me know.

-Troy

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

Troy: Its still pretty back woods here. the town just recently got dsl service (im still to far away for it, GRRRRR). when I asked about it 6 years ago, they thought i was looking for drugs, lol. My cellphone just recently started to work here also. I used to have to drive an hour away to recive my messages or any phone calls.

It occurred to me that I should post an intro only after I saw that people where interested as to who I was. I figured if I am to post about things that are a concern to me like gun safety, or any future post's I may add my opinion to, its only fare that you know who I am.

Me strikes predatory dinosaur with club and offers tasty meal to Homicidalheathen

<Blushing> Sybil my darling, that is far to gracious a comment for the likes of me, and for that I thank you.

torn asunder: Vigor went to work for me today so that I could have a three day weekend lol. I should have seen that coming.

Just kidding. Sounds like you dont get out much though......do you come down for concerts?

hahahahaha **tears** hahahahahaha

it would figure that someone would assume drugs as the reason one would want DSL.. i mean come ON!!!!!!! we all buy drugs off the internet these days with our Pay Pal accounts and all. **scoffs**

Duh.

Dont we?!

ppshh.

hahahahahaha

And I thought that it was WONDERFUL that you spoke up to me about gun safety!!!!

You echoed all the stuff I was saying to the guys that were teaching me to shoot.

I went on for a while to them about the importance of safety and RESPECT for the knowledge I was getting from them.

I was VERY excited to learn but ya cant just put something deadly into a persons hands and leave them to it.

?!?!?

You never really know who you are dealing with, right?

Gotta teach the safety 1st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again!!!

You are an EXCELLENT "teacher"!

Yes I have a my space Page. thats how I keep up with Flesh friends out in the midst of civilization. Hudson is close to 2 hours from downtown Detroit a little less if traffic is light. lol no Caribou I don't believe and reside in the lower peninsula,

I don't hunt for trophy, only for food (Tho I do enjoy the sport). Deer are the largest game here. But, the largest animal that Ive killed and butchered was a pig that was 500 pounds ( I raised them once upon a time, only for my then, family and I).

A party is an excellent Idea ( this way you would see what a wierdo freak truly is!). I haven't had one of those in so long, my definition of the word almost escapes my memory.

Sadly enough I haven't been off the farm for anything other than work or a family outing for 8 years. Wow...wow...that hurts, lol. With this realization in mind I think I'm going out next weekend.

Nice to meet you.

I live close to Hudson, grew up spending a lot of time in that town and know it pretty well. 4 or 5 years ago I was pulled over in Hudson, by a parked police officer, while riding a scooter.

Nice to meet you too,

Other than the 2 bars what the hell is there to do around here? I know a couple of people. but the only thing here I've found to do is hunt, shoot trap, and stand around drinking beer. I'm not a big nascar fan so I quess thats the extent of it. I like it here its a great place to raise my young. thats the charm of it i guess.

the police can be bad. I heard they rotate rookies fresh out of the academy about every three months. So, they want to make a name for them selves. can any one throw some gang signs and give me a posey lake down???!!!

Wait your talkin' bout the one in Lenawee right? I didn't know there was anything fancy like TWO bars =P, thought there was only Skips. Lol. If you are, theres a bowling/pizza place called Ten Pins, a library, a Marco's pizza attached to the market house/hardware store, Empire Entertainment (a gaming/movie store), a community center available for rent for whatever the hell people wanna have go on there, a Mcdonalds, a Subway, and it's a good place to trick or treat.

If your into local gigs and a lot of people playing really loud metal, Adrian isn't far away, and it has clubs and local gigs you can usually find out by visiting them or on myspace. Most of these gigs have mostly younger people attending though ('cept for maybe the Battle of the Bands in Adrian), even though this is the closest thing to an alt scene I've found around here, which kind of saddens me, cause I don't care for endless AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! from different people; and I want to do vocals for something, but I won't start anything up till I get settled with finding a job and moving out.

Adrian has two Dagohir LARP groups that play every Saturday. One in Trestle park, and one in Island park; so if you'd be interested in that, or your kids, or just want to spectate, people of all ages do that (I've seen 16 year old's to 40 something year olds playing) and the weapons and shields for that LARP are foam; the parks are a great place to chill too, Island is the one with the playground, both have trails. Adrian also has a movie theater, a shitload of restaurants, the Crosswell Opera House, clubs that come and go, skate/bmx park, a kind of small Mall with a Sam Goody/Waldenbooks/Hot Topic ect, general stores like Meijers, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Lowes, some franchise gaming stores like Game Crazy and Game Frenzy.. lots of stuff you can't find in Hudson.

Basically the only thing to watch out for is downtown Adrian, which is filled with one-way streets. This place was set up specifically to rape you. Your meant to not know where the hell the lanes go, you have to go slow (speed limit is like 25), and the cops are located around downtown. It's existence is meant to make people curse, as they are continually raped by it's worthlessness. Thankfully it's a small town, but business-wise, much bigger than Hudson.
