Good Looking "goth Guy" Clothing?

Recommended Posts

Simple: black jeans, black t-shirt or dress-shirt, not necessarily tucked-in, black boots or Doc-style shoes (do NOT tuck the pants into the boots). Do your hair decent and throw on some eyeliner.

Complicated: throw some kind of loose-fitting net top over a t-shirt or tank (don't be afraid to check out the women's bathing suit cover-ups at stores like Meijer's, Wal-Mart, Fashion Bug, K-Mart, etc), some kind of black pants, if loose see shoe suggestions in "simple". If tighter-fitting, some kind of boot tucked-in. If you don't have a rather large belt, find one or make one that can be worn low on the hip - not in the belt loops, and put it on top of a poet's shirt. (You can pick up some really very goth-looking belts in the women's department at Wal-Mart right now. I'm talking big leather-looking jobs with studs, eyelets, and big buckles - some of them look like they came from Hot Topic. I just noticed the other day that they also have BIG buckles in the sewing department with stuff like rhinestone skulls, etc.) You can also pick up all sorts of different types of chain by the foot at Lowe's and Home Depot, and cool types of connectors to use as clasps - think about 3-yards of a twisted silver chain looped sveral times around your waist. Uh - I forget. If you plan to wear to City Club, they probably still don't allow chain. So nevermind on that one.

I've seen what you look like right now, Troy. You can get away with a tighter fitting pant if you wear a longer shirt untucked. Of course, if you're of the same mindset as me, you'd wear whatever you feels looks good on you. But if you're feeling self-conscious, just wear clothes that fit a little looser around parts you're uncomfortable with.

Don't be afraid to check out the women's plus sizes at thrift shops. I get lucky and find lots of fishnet, mesh, or t-shirts I can hack apart and customize there.

well my favorite outfit is really quite simple: simple loose black jeans(some of them i "accidently" made a BIG hole around the ass, you know, to give ppl something the look at;D) or some bondage pants, a large band t-shirt(burzüm prefered), finger gloves, some black nailpolish and me olde mili boots:P simple, yet good looking(at least i think it is:D) oh and nothing tucked in. it just makes you look like a nerd:P

For us non-pixies that don't typically want to spend say 3 hours getting ready for the club. What are some basic "goth guy" things that you think look good?

hahaha.. i like the Pixie comment..

I like long sleeve button up shirts.. this is WIDE OPEN.. endless possibilities..(i suggest this because its a clean classy type look and you a classy guy.)

black pants.. they can be leather, latex, velvet, tight jeans, vinyl..

boots..

a website to check out that i have ordered from and the quality is GORGEOUS..

is..

pennangalan dreams

Whatever you try on that makes you feel sexy, is sexy.

..pretty simple.. boot laces would take the most time.

what is your favorite color?

(buy pants that color!) hehehe

do you shop online?

i order from the U.K. all the time. i have a hundred sites saved on my computer that have VERY SEXY clothing for men. clothes that FIT and arent so boxy..

i really think latex NEEDS to make a comeback!!!

Good suggestions.

Boots:

My longstanding problem with boots is that I'm already 6'4-5" and socializing isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world bent over like a hunchback... add boots to the mix and I'm having to bend over even more.

I wish i was like 4 inches shorter, would make things so much simpler. Clothing in general is always very iffy if i can find something that fits (even before i became a hippo)

WHA WHA WHA WHAT!!!!????

NO YOU DONT WANT TO BE 4 inches SHORTER!!!!

you wear boots.

**insert tall hot chic in boots**

There.

BEAUTIFUL.

:)

My brother is 6'6" tall!? ..just gotta find a tall chic.. is his outlook.

I do hear you about bending over to talk to people. i am 5'8" and i enjoy wearing 4-6 inch heels. hahaha My girlfriends dont think its very nice of me. hahaha but i like height. it is "my thing". heels and boots are sexy.

My longstanding thing with boots is:

when you find a GREAT pair? comfy sexy.. ya never stop enjoying them.. bending over is No Longer Issue.

I agree with what has been written here already Troy;

Chicks dig tall guys.

DON'T stop wearin boots!

I'm almost as tall as you, so I can empathize somewhat.

But like the others have said, find a tall chick, or someone like Sybill in tall heels.

OR, find someone you're interested in, and say: "Hey, wanna go SIT DOWN and talk ?"

The only times its bad for a guy to be tall,

speaking as a tall guy myself,

is; going through low doorways,

under low tree limbs,

and fitting into small cars.

"boots" doesn't have to mean adding height.

For instance, typical army-style boots wouldn't add more than 1" tops - and probably somewhere less than that:

And many very classic punk-styles are totally flat. The following pic is of a pair of shoes from Sybil's aforementioned pennangalan, but you can find boots that are very similarly made:

If Pennangalan isn't in your budget - I know it's not in mine even though I'm almost guaranteed to find the perfect footwear there every time - you can find similar styles in other stores/websites.

I happen to also think a cool pair of shoes - like those above - are classy and unique. Just please wear black socks. Red if you're true punk and not a poseur. Maybe dark purple. But white and I'll have to stab you in the shins so that you'll bleed them into a proper color.

To each, his own, I guess. I like boots that make me taller.

I'm 6'3" and I'll wear boots. You're asking the same question I have wanted to. What is good to wear to not stand out when you're not into the hardcore style of dressing for CC or other clubs.

Oohh. Making the mistake of browsing Pennangalan now that I've been there.

The following are my idea of the quintessential Punk boot. I will drool over these - and variations thereof - every time.

A black t-shirt or even a black long sleeve over a wife beater always go far.

Also, any geek-related shirt will probably get you somewhere.

I'm also a fan of the white long-sleeved shirt with nice cuffs with a pair of black pants (of whichever material you like).
