Oh No... Not That... Anything But That...

Recommended Posts

Sigh. New haircut. Visit to a rest room that is actually decently lit. And there they were - a couple hairs that seemed too bright compared to the rest of my hair. Yanked them out...

Walked up to Jon, and sighed, and showed him the ones I'd pulled out. He checked - and pulled out a couple more before I told him to stop before I'm even more thin than I already am.

To be honest, I've been wondering for a few years if I've had any. It's hard to tell with blonde hair and the dim lighting we seem to have had in all the bathrooms in the apartments we've lived in the past few years.

I'm trying to look at the bright side. Jon is 10 years younger than me and I first noticed white hairs on his temples 5 years ago. And they're spreading and multplying.

And I think it's cool they're of the white/colorless variety and not really grey. Could be kinda punk, you know?

Sigh.

I remember that shock of finding that first gray hair. Mine are really yukky looking, but I never liked my natural color on me anyway. I've been either coloring or highlighting my hair since my teens so it's really not a big deal since I wear color anyway.

It's actually kind of nice because now I don't have to bleach first to get my neon red to show. The gray takes it much brighter and the brown I have left makes it two-toned, which is kind of cool looking :)

i have been getting white hairs for a LONG time now. i believe getting married helped to speed up that process.

most of the white hairs seem to hide on the right side and i part my hair on the left, so they seem to be well hidden - for the most part. i am now starting to get it in the front though so i think years of stress are rapidly catching up to me now!

lot of my friends went grey early to mid 20's. thier scout leaders. taking 30 of other peoples kids on holliday with you and letting them light fires will do that also

when i go grey i'll go grey. my hair is allready known to be completely immune to dye.

I got my first grey hairs in my late 30s and I was excited about them. I felt like it made me officially a survivor and an elder of the community. But then, I never liked being young anyway. Always felt like no one would take me seriously, and I really envied the past experiences of older people around me. So the only problem I have with my grey hairs is that they're a different texture from the rest, so they stick out kind'a crazy in places. Not something I losee any sleep over though!

That is an awesome and refreshing perspective. You rock.
