Stuff The History Books Never Told You

Recommended Posts

This was Texas City in 1947 after two ships carrying 8400 tons of amonium nitrite,caught fire and exploded,it was heard over 100 miles away,the History Channel had an episode of this on a show called "Wrath Of God" considering this was a manmade disaster.they show actual explosions and aftermath,which really surprised me that back then someone had a movie cammera rolling.

This is a pic of the Monsanto Chemical Corp after the first explosion.

You can Find this info on google,just type "Texas City Disaster of 1947"

TexasCitydisaster.jpg

Another thing never listed was Russia detonated the largest H-Bomb ever which equaled to 52-58 megatons(not really sure which number is right)

The History Channel Rocks!!

Anyone else have anything that was never printed in the history books?

I'll tell ya one thing that I didn't learn in any history book: the Korean War. I didn't know that that happened til I started watching M*A*S*H. I guess it wasn't called the forgotten war for nothing. Not even my high school history books had anything in it about the Korean War.

well that's like did you guys hear about the geography problem that is now arising? A possible 8 story temple in the ocean, but tombs above the water site near the most western island of japan date back 10,000 years or more. They are sofisticated enough to have had to have a more advanced human race than originaly thought...many historians are debunking the idea of anything important being under the water, then again we found the lost city of Troy, the one city in the desert, and so why could one not be under water? The scary thing though is that if there was a city there, then the flooding and stuff they say could come from global warming is possible and could 'cause a massive flood overnight to all coastlines.

(yes this is what they believe is the lost city of atlantis)

I saw it on discovery channel so that is why i do not remember it all...XD

I just found it interesting is all...

I've read about that. It's beleived to be a teraformed structure. Thati s, it was a already there and was then altered by man into a finnished shape. it dates from the last ice age, when the seas were far lower than they are now. Ofcourse it would be underwater now.. the world isn't half covered with ice anymore. There are simular sturctures of the coast of Cuba and India. There are a few people that thinkt hat are completly man made, but.. it's very hard to tell who is right as they are under so much water.

If you are interrested in the Korean war, check out In Mortal Combat by Toland. Try to deprogram everything that Alan Alda put in your head!

As for 10,000 year old structures, read the indian stories in the Ramayana and the Mahabharata about the apocolyptic war that took place 24,000 years ago. it was oral tradition for several thousand years and written down a few thousand years ago. They seem to be convinced that the earth had a huge population that was highly advanced which fell back into the stone age after a huge war.

even "the Truth" (russian national newspaper hahahahah) has an article on it:

Im not saying I believe it... but I do think its slightly more likely than the earth being created in 7 days and it is only 4000 years old.

dont forget the history cannel gets a lot of things blatantly wrong

I thought that needed a quote.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Don't forget that Euros invented the blast furnace and built the first metal tower.
Just totally ignore the fact the china beat them to the punch by thousands of years.
He who has the power writes history.
    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.
    • I'm glad  that yesterday's day at work is long gone now. There was a very strong unusual energy that I felt, and couldn't get done with the day fast enough. It wasn't  the job at all. I just felt like I really needed to keep my mouth shut, to keep me from getting in situation(s) that probably wouldn't have ended well for me.
    • You can trust anyone you want.  The only question is whether or not they're deserving of that trust. No risk = no reward.  As such you have to let yourself be vulnerable sometimes and realize that all people will let you down eventually whether it's intentional or not.  The frequency that it happens is what's important.
    • Sorry, I don't check this as often as I should. Anyway document everything (although it sounds like @Trene4000already has been from her post.) It's okay to cry and break down, but not in front of them.  Never give them the satisfaction of seeing you crack.  If anything I'd go out of my way to piss them off, but I don't like being that guy either (and as such I'm not very good at it, except sometimes when I'm not intending to be.) I try to only help those whom deserve it, but that's often hard to judge.  Seeing how someone treats other people is a pretty good indicator of whether or not they're worthy.  Sociopathic narcissistic asshats are very much not worthy. I hope things are going well for you guys.
