Soulrev
I miss home already. Fort Polk Louisiana kinda sucks. It's really hot and really humid down here. There's not much to do besides drink and go bowling. I'm waiting for my sign-on bonus money to get deposited into my bank account so I can go buy a car, and come home for TDY and get my wife and my personal belongings. I'm also waiting for Post Housing to give me a damn house to live in so I can bring my wife here and get the hell out of the barracks. Once everything comes together everything should be good to go. I'm working on buying an 07 Honda Civic but they're trying to stick me with a high interest rate so I'm working on getting them to drop that down to 9% at least. But anyway I'm doing pretty good and I'm anxious to get the hell out of Fort Polk for 10 days. When I do get home I'll make sure to come out to CC this time and party it up. Take care, everyone and hope to see you soon! -B

Don't forget that the service members civil relief act, (formerly the uniformed soldiers and sailors relief act), requires that if you are sent into any theatre of operation i.e. Iraq or Afghanistan, they are required by law to drop any and all loans to 6% But be careful because they can raise them back up to after you leave theater. It is your responsibility to contact all your creditors and provide a copy of orders. They are not required to if you get the loan while in theater however, also if you have a credit card rate dropped to 6% it only applies to purchases before deployment. Any purchases made while in theater will be at the full APR. A lot of times upon returning they never raise them back up though. They tend to forget.
