LuluVox
Well, there's an old article from 1977ish or so, where Siouxsie describes the Banshee's sound as 'gothic'. Or so they say. Who really knows.

Fierce Critter
Well, there's an old article from 1977ish or so, where Siouxsie describes the Banshee's sound as 'gothic'. Or so they say. Who really knows. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have read the same thing. If memory serves, someone asked her what the newly formed Banshees music would sound like, and her response was something to the effect of, "I'm not sure, but I think it will be gothic." Fierce Critter
I actually heard the answer to that once, but it didn't stick in my memory banks of useless trivia that'll never win me a red cent on Jeopardy. I'll refrain from googling it in case someone really knows the answer.

Hermine
A press release about fashion. Learned that in French last semester Edit to add: Nobody in my French class had heard of Depeche Mode except my French professor. Apparently, he and his friends (they did not speak much English at the time any of them) used to try to figure out what they are saying. I shall always remember that class for the priceless image of a room full of French Canadian teenagers sitting around with a copy of Black Celebration and going "What the fuck?" fallennon
This is a long shot here but I'm going to guess Front 242. One of my ex's was really into EBM and I think he said it was them...I might have the name wrong though...
