My only regret in death would be that I no longer have arms to hold you and lips to kiss you and let you physically know how I feel about you, but in your heart I hope there burns a warmth that will never die out, that's my love for you. I hope it brings you a peace and joy that will help you allow other people into your heart, and allow you to love again. I know you'll miss me, but I'm glad that we had the time that we had in life to even get acquainted with eachother. You were my blessing since the day I laid eyes on you..

Is this a suicide note, or like... we're gonna freeze to death on the siberian tundra and we get to write a goodbye note in the snow? Or if I got murdered, I would write "So And So Was My Killer!" in my blood. And yes, I would put "So And So," because that would be awesome.

It would start something like this:

1) Oakley - should go with Mom & Dad. He plays fetch, but don't worry about being able to throw a frisbee right - he just likes to run and get it. Very whiny - it's nothing you do or don't do. Asks to go to the door by whining more incessently, maybe barking. The growling he does when he has a toy is NOT aggressive - it's his way of saying "let's play". Buy replacement "long dog" toys at PetSmart or Meijer's.

2) Tuckle - definitely go with Mom & Dad. Pick up a bale of Kay-Tee TIMOTHY hay from Wal-Mart and stick it in the feeder bin, make sure it comes out of the chute freely. Feed him fresh vegetables every day per the attached diet plan. Trim claws regularly - shine a light through them to expose the quick easier. Don't let him on the bed or he'll pee.

3) Ripley - should go to my oldest sister. Likes to play fetch with those little spinner toys from PetSmart. Likes her gums rubbed through her outer lip.

4) Grover - doesn't need to be with any of the other cats, but shouldn't be homed with Marty. Might be good with Asia. Grover is a real begger and likes food scraps. Laid back, doesn't play much. Likes his belly rubbed some.

5) Xena - do NOT house with any of the other cats - no other cats period. Will do something called "flippy cute" on command, and then will allow you to rub her belly, ears, eyes and chin. VERY talkative.

6) Asia - Should go with one of the other cats, perhaps Grover. Or better yet - keep with Oakley, she loves him. Asia is kinda stand-offish. But once she warms up to you, you can lay her on your chest and rub her from neck to spine and she'll start kneading & suckling on your clothes or blanket.

7) Marty, Fletcher & Calder - really should be kept together...

And so on. :)

I actually think about this often. If both Jon and I were in an accident tomorrow, we'd leave behind 12 cats, a dog and a rabbit that nobody knows anything about. I'd like to think that if I left behind instructions, my family would find appropriate homes for all of them rather than just call an animal shelter.

yeah, i used to write drunk a lot... i was at my most (negatively) creative then. now, all my stuff seems banal to me...

It's sorta unfortunate that with creative inspiration comes a certain amount of insanity and self-destructive behavior - for most people anyways.

Welll...errrr....I actually wrote one of them kind of letters before. It mostly said I was sorry.....hmmmm. I never showed it to anyone. I think offend about the whole life and death thing. My mother in law is on to my father in law about writing his obituary. She has written hers and now she wants to start on his. Yes, they are both still alive.
