so why salt and pepper?

Well, everything tastes better with salt. Infact, it's the one spice you die without. Hence it tasting good. Pepper is a social thing.. and it's cheap... and grows just about anywhere. Both are widely eaten in many cultures. Where as others.. Seasoned Salt is still salt. Not everyone likes garlic or curry.

Because originally, Salt was going steady with Curry. But then Curry got it in her head that she needed to 'broaden her sexual horizons," and ended up hooking up with Saffron (who we all know is a tawdry little self-important bitch).

Now, at the same time, Pepper had a sort of long-distance relationship going with Oregano. But we all know how those things work out. Pepper made a surprise visit to Oregano's villa and caught him in a bed of lettuce with Parsley. Not a pretty sight.

In a fit of self-pity, Salt had taken himself on a Mexican vacation in Puerto Vallarta, and was drowning himself in Margaritas at a tourist-laden cantina. On a whim, Pepper took a detour on her way back from Tuscany. So, as fate would have it, Pepper walked in to the same little cantina. Salt started to stand up from the bar just as Pepper walked in. He stumbled and took a spill. He threw a pinch of himself over his left shoulder and caught pepper full in the face. Their eyes locked in a moment of utter and complete understanding, and throwing caution to the wind, dove into a whirlwind tamale-hot romance that, to this day, has never lost its spice.

BEAUTIFUL. I got tears in my eyes, such a touching story. It IS in fact, the only logical explination for why salt and pepper go together, so with that it MUST be true.
