Ok, I guess, let be be the first to say... EEEEWWWW!!! Yuck, gross, icky, creepy, skin crawly, shiver, gross, eeww!!!!! YUCK! What the heck does it hunt, dogs and ponies? Yuck!

It's a Hunters Spider or Giant Crap Spider. They do look somwhat like a Brown recluse... One way to tell the diff is take a pic. A hunters spiders eye's reflect light where as a brown recluse does not... the things are damn fast.. and can run sideways.. and they jump...

LMAO that was priceless.

When I visited Florida just south of Ocala, my girlfriend at the time (long story) had her parents home in the middle of a field and were gone for the whole summer up here. On vacation we went down there and upon getting to the house noticed a banana spider on the porch. They are not as big but are highly poisonous and a good size themselves. Then when we entered there were a few wolf spiders around the walls and ceilings. I went to wash my hair and knelt beside the tub and started to stick my head under the faucet when I saw one of those big hairy wolf spiders under my neck in the tub. My first reaction was like the movie Arachaphobia. But after that I thought it was pretty cool. They used to use air pumped up from a pellet gun to shoot and knock them out with air because they were too fast to swat. That and probably because of the mess.
