so my friend/roommate just told me yesterday/this morning after i got off of work, that me living here isn't 'working out.' she's giving me 2wks. to find another place to live, nevermind the fact that the big furniture in the house belongs to me. she's selling her house because she can't afford it anymore... so what exactly is she gaining by kicking me out? i paid her the amount that she 'needed' in order to keep her head above water, and i paid in full. my only problem was that i didn't document it, so there's nothing legally that i can do. (this is what happens when you pay in cash because you have no money in your checking account.) i should just stop trying to help people, all it does it get me into trouble, and into water that i don't know if i can tread... 2wks... that's all i've got.. no money, no place to put the things that i do own... i knew this was a bad idea, realisitcally, i knew this, but where i was, i thought i had no other choice... so now what? am i going to live in my car? will she have a change of heart? who knows... so if i seem to be a darker cloud than normal, this is why... i could've been a complete bitch, and not paid her when i didn't have the money... i was paying her 3wks. before i moved in to try and help her out, and still, this is what it gets me... she says she feels bad,... good, i hope she does... i know living with friends isn't the best idea... i've learned this... i should've learned it from other people, but i'm too stubborn... stupid bitch... this is the 2nd time she's done this to me, that she's turned on me...i should've learned from the frist time... but again, i'm too stubborn, and too good of heart... fuck... 2wks. doesn't really give me a lot of time... FUCK!! k, i'm done.... i think... no.., i lied.... now i'm done...

Living with friends is not the bad idea. The part about her doing this to you before... should have made you think a little harder. Don't stop being a caring person just because of the bad apples out there. Find people who appreciate your kindness, instead.

When we repeatedly put ourselves in a position to be taken advantage of, it's very often an ego thing. We want to feel morally superior to the bad people who always treat us so poorly. Or we want to feel in control of situations, and get that feeling by always coming to the rescue. I am not saying these things necessarily apply to you, but it's a VERY common behavior pattern... and understanding the unconscious motivation for self-defeating behaviors allows us to eliminate them.

And... GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!!! The key to doing business with friends is to do it in a scrupulously businesslike manner. Paying in cash doesn't prevent you from writing down exactly why the loot is changing hands, and both of you signing what's been written. It doesn't have to be typed on a special form- as long as it's clearly worded and signed by both parties (& preferably witnessed), it's a legal document. Although in this case I not sure it would've made a difference, unless she specifically promised you housing for a certain time period in exchange for the money. Hard to say just from the info you've given here.

Anyway... good luck sweetie... keep your wits about you and focus on what to do next rather than beating yourself up for making bad decisions. And make sure you learn from this experience. :grouphug

And most give 30 days beyond that.......

Not if she doesn't document that she lives and pays to stay there. Anyone can send mail as well to an address and not have to live there.

I lived in my vehicles off and on for about 3 years before I came out of the hole. Not trying to make it sound worse; just trying to say if you get to that point, then its suckin ass more.

The only problem with that is more than likely doing so won't actually kill her. Go with a king cobra or something that will be stronger.

hmmm...a king cobra is kinda harsh not to mention expensive.....I guess if she wanted the most bang for her buck she could go with something a bit easier to get.

i just got news that i might have a place to live after all... my mom is moving back down into the area, and as much as i'd hate to impose on her, she's said that once she finds a place (hopefully by next week) i can move in... that means, i don't have to get rid of my snake, i don't have to worry about my roommate taking things that aren't hers, and i won't have to worry about being a nomad and wondering when i'm going to get kicked out next. pray that everything goes through. ya know, i never knew i could feel someone's attitude while they were sleeping... she's mainly mad at the fact that things didn't work out the way that she wanted them too. also, on a lighter note, after she told me that i had to move out in 2wks., she lost her voice, had to use a breathing machince for a little bit, then took a shower to break up whatever was in her lungs. she went to the doctor the next day to figure it out. once she got back, i asked her (just out of curiousity sake) what the doc told her. her responce "I have a throat infection." really? wow, i wonder why.. can anyone say K-A-R-M-A?
