How do You make $?

I'm a teacher at present... currently teaching special ed at a k-8 Afrocentric charter school. My take on teaching is the kids are great, but dealing with parents & administrators is a pain in the ass & takes much of the joy out of it. Another thing that sucks is the fact that decisions about what gets taught & how are made by politicians & community busybodies rather than educators or anyone else w/a clue about the realities of kids today. It's sad 'cos issues like this (not to mention the ridiculous pay) are driving all the truly caring, innovative, creative people out of the field. Anyway, I'm looking to get out of classroom teaching & go into curriculum design or tech integration (teaching educators how to make technology an integral part of their curricula & classroom routines).

If I were really brave & followed my own advice about following one's dreams, I would go full time selling vintage collectibles on eBay... hit the flea market/auction circuit a few days a week, maybe do some tutoring at Sylvan or someplace for a steady check... I would also like to tutor kids who travel for whatever reason (touring w/celeb parents, etc.) but have no idea how you get hooked up w/a gig like that so oh well...

i actually go out quite often and play.   

just not where everyone here regularly goes.

i have been going to a bar that all my friends go to. it is one of those dives but all the people are great kinda thing. i can let you know what place if you want (in a pm though, not directly on the board) maybe you go there too? but i doubt it. if not for my friends going there so much i would not even set foot in the place.  :laughing:
