I am about to respond to everyone here. Please, if I simply say :thanks::thanks:, please please do not consider it to be insincere in the slightest. I really do appreciate your comments and congratulations. With the limited time I have before babies wake up, it is just hard to respond uniquely to every post.

congrats!

:thanks: :thanks:

oh hun their beautiful! congrats :thumbsup:

They are, aren't they? :thumbsup:

healthy sized babies!! They are ADORABLE! Congrats to you!

We were suprised how small they actually were, we were positive that they would both be over 6 lbs. I won't complain though, lots of 2 and 3 lb twins coming out these days. It is rare for a twin pregnancy to go to 38 weeks...and I "could have" held out a bit longer. I was just too impatient. :)

absolutely adorable...congratulations!

:thanks: :thanks:

I'm so glad they are here and healthy! Congrats!

Meee too. There is, however, a slight concern with LilyAnn. She is gaining weight slowly and vomiting frequently. We are trying to feed her lesser amounts more frequently to see if that helps. Wish us luck. At least she is not losing weight!!

Oh man twins! That's crazy, getting two for the price of one like that :laugh: . My momma told me that twins skips generations in our family and...*gulp*...I'm next in line for a double set :unsure: (if I so choose to have kids, which isn't looking likely at this point, if all goes according to plan). Congrats!

That's what they told me too and it came true. My gma and her gma and her gma... My gma had hers after the age of 30. We think that is the key. I did hear that spontaneous twins come more frequently as a woman ages.

From what I understand spontaneous (not fertility med related) twins are hereditary only through maternal lines. Men cannot pass on this trait.

As far as "double set", my gma had 4 sets.!!...yeah, thats why dave will be rapidly victi... I mean vasectomized, I mean... yeah. :):confused: poor dave.

They're gorgeous AND healthy-sized! Congrats!!!

:thanks: :thanks:

To damn cute :)

:thanks::thanks:

They are unbelievably adorable. Congrats!! And here's to all those sleepless nights!!

:thanks: and oi. Tell me about it. :sleep:

congratulations, dear. They're gorgeous.

:thanks::thanks:

Beautiful!! And one of each!! I see that LilyAnn is bigger then her brother.. Muuuaaaahhh!!!

Yes, it appears that LilyAnn takes more after me and William takes more after Dave. I had hoped that it would be the other way around, but we'll see how it pans out. The idea of me raising a petite flower was pretty much laughable anyway, lol.

Congrats! :animier:

:thanks::thanks:

They are sooooo adorable. I love their names!!! My Elijah would have been a Lily, if he had been a girl.

I like Elijah too. :respect:

LilyAnn was going to be just Lily with the middle name Ann, but after much long, hard soul-searching, I suggested to Dave that we also name her after his late wife, Robin. Being the hugely jealous type, I had to make sure that it was a decision that I would not regret. I met her quite a few times and know that she was a wonderful woman. I know that they had been unable to have kids due to her required medications. I thought long and hard and even prayed on it. After planting the seed with him months ago, the moment she was born, I told Dave that I wanted to name her LilyAnn Robyn. I had to assure him that the medications (spinal block) were not affecting my judgement. He agreed and I like LilyAnn even better now.

jealous....but in a good way.

Wonderful Steven, if you had children what would you do with all that musical talent? Nah... I know you'd gladly give up your rock star endevours if fatherhood required. I do have to believe that there is some reason that such good people as you and your wife do not yet have them. Think of all the time you spend counseling others - here, at the church, in the community. People need you...especially here on DGN, lol. C'mon, just look at Al :)

Congrats!

So we have the youngest memebers of DGN now? You could make History!

This is definitely not the first birth in DGN history. Perhaps the first twin birth... but sass is at my heels.

Omygawd!

I love them!

They're the cutest things ever!

My thoughts exactly :thumbsup:

Awwww.....they are just precious Marblez!!!

Congratulations to the New Mommy and Daddy!!!

:)

:thanks::thanks:

Can they come out and play yet? :w00t:

Well, they came out of me and I play with them every day. But then again so does their daddy... :wub: lol . Oh, how inappropriate is that? lol.

:offtopic:......four more weeks, tina, just four more weeks......

Aw, they are sooo cute! Congrats!

:thanks::thanks:

Awww! They're beautiful!! Congrats!! (hugs)

:thanks::thanks:

They say the stronger twin comes out first......and that even in C section they take out the one that is down further so it stays the same....

Did you find the stronger twin was born first? You know, the bigger healthier one...?

Yes, LilyAnn was definitely the stronger of the two. She was larger and less jaundiced. She sleeps more too. Not sure if she just takes after her narcoleptic mother or if she is just (as I put it) "fat and happy". He was breech and although he was considerably smaller and she was no longer in there, there was quite a bit of tugging required to get him out. I am still dealing with the extra pain on my left hand side from this baby tug-o-war.

Awww, congratulations!

:thanks::thanks:

Yup, looks like the bigger one came out first...the girl. :thumbsup:

Yup, she did. (See above) :thumbsup:

WOW I have been out of the loop....

CONGRATULATIONS....

Yes, you should come around more often. Good to see ya lady.

Gorgeous babes! :)

Get plenty of rest, mommy & daddy. You'll need your energy now, as I'm sure you remember. Sweet little ones.

THis is why it has taken me so long to respond. I wanted to do it all at once and it just all seems so overwhelming a task when we have such little sleep/playtime.

they are so sweet... congrads

:thanks::thanks:

congrats they are so cute

:thanks::thanks:

:thanks: It IS shocking to see them so alert even on the first day at the hospital. He takes after his dad in so many ways...oh he is a very lucky boy :)

Zack is excited and enjoys helping with them. I am consciously making an effort to not have him do too much for me and the babies, I want him to enjoy them and not feel like they are a burden on him at 7 years old. One thing is for sure, he is enjoying a bit more freedom as we have to spread the attention a bit. It helps that he is developing good friends in the neighborhood.

Congrats to you & your family. *hugs* They are to cute for words. So, can we count on them being the newest members of our little goth family? :biggrin:

:thanks:

Not sure how goth they will be - but I'll be around and so will they :)

congrats... i'm so happy for you.... thank the goodness they are healthy

:thanks::thanks:

Makes me want kids..even more..warms my heart..ever so much.

They say that babies are contagious :baby::baby: I believe it!!

Congrats!!!!

:thanks::thanks:

They're cute Tina.

:thanks::thanks:
