Pale Gothyness

Recommended Posts

Just looking for some tips. I mean, I try my best to cover up in the summer even though it's ridiculously hot out, and I try to remember sunscreen everyday and avoid the sun when I can, but on other sites I've heard of people using other stuff like lotions and shit and mixtures in order to keep white. So if there's anyone on here who is a big pale freak like me, how do you keep yourself ghastly white other than covering up, sunscreen, and avoiding sunlight? Just wondering, I'm sick of my arms and face being brown and the rest of my body being white like snow . It just looks funny.

I sleep all day and religeously hide from the sun... and i still got a tan... what the bloody hell...

That's because when you're sleeping I drive all the way up to Flushing and hover over you, holding a tanning sunlamp above your face while you sleep. I have NO idea how you've never woken up from it, but eh, works for me. Your mom just lets me in the house, knowing my evil plot :tongue:

oh shit.. i threadjacked... I R sorries...

but i guess yeah, invest in some sun block, avoid the sun, and stop tanning me in my sleep, i'm sure the tan light is hitting you as well.

I think heat has something to do with it too, call it strange but i think the warmer my environment, the more tan i am... very odd.. but temp just MIGHT have something to do with it... or maybe i'm just weird i dunno, good luck!

I don't for my skin is kissed with golden honey... that's why I'm so sweet.. :) hehe *gags self with spoon* Although lighter skinned asians are seen as more the upper eschelon due to the fact that they stayed outta the sun and they didnt have to do manual labour to survive.

I do try to stay outta the sun..i honestly don't go out too much between the high burn times.. 10-2..

Here's what I do, it works out pretty well for me.

I put on sunscreen EVERY DAY at least half an hour before I go outside, (that's how long it takes for it to start working). I just discovered those new spray sunscreens - they are a GODSEND! For serious.

That's pretty much all I do for my body.

As for my face, which is naturally ruddy because of my viking rootses, I use this stuff called prosacea at night. It contains sulfur, which helps to minimize the inflamation of the blood vessels in your skin, in addition to fighting acne (yay). I use that about every other day, and on the other days, I use Eucerin anti redness night cream. The day face lotion I use is from the same line, and it has a 15spf protectant. Then I usually put on an anti-red powder, green tint stuff, by physicians formula. It's a mineral base, so it's very light and safe for sensitive skin.

Really, the best medicine though is sunblock, at least 15spf (it's hard to find anything higher which is also non-comedogenic, as in won't clog your pores), and a face wash which is labeled "calming," especially if you're not into wearing powders or foundations. I don't wear any foundation, which is why I like the combo of the lotion and pressed green powder.

Are you kidding me. It took me 25 years to tan and not just kinda flambéed. I still glow in the dark which is great for night time w/ my girl but hell when your expected to wear a skirt for a family function.

It seems physically impossible for me to tan. If I go in the sun I burn, even if only for a short time and with 50+ sunblock. I burn red, fade to pink and go back to alabaster. If it's very brief sun I go pink instead *shrugs* so I can't even picture myself with a tan. One time a friend and I tried a self-tanner just for kicks, to see how it would look and my friend turned a lovely golden brown and I turned orange.

I avoid direct sun at all costs. I stay indoors or in the shade. If I go swimming or other outdoor activities I stick to evenings.

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.
