Ren-fest Starts... Yet Again.....

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.... The Michigan Renaissance Festival starts in about two weeks...(Aug. 18th) and goes every weekend until the end of Sept...

I hope to see some of you there, come say hello and make sure I get to meet you. I perform under the name Conor Savage, and am usually booked at the main Guinness Pub stage a few times a day.... yay!!!

This year we are hoping for better weather (it rained every fucking weekend last year.) but even if we don't get it, I will be there...

heres hoping....hehe

Ponders...ponders...

I don't know if we'll go this year.

Last year, we were just honestly too freaking lazy to feel like putting on our costumes.

This year, I don't know if we'll fit into our costumes. :X

Going in non-period clothing (shorts, sandals & shirts) sounds so comfortable. But I've only been there once not in costume, and I hated how I didn't feel part of the experience, you know?

All those layers.... ponders...

..I will be there a few times. My friends parents have been working there for years....old token hippie couple that wear authentic kilts....grey hair....Joes dad? You prob know them.

Shall be drinking heavy hard beer by a mud pit no doubt.

Oh and I want private bj lessons from the balloon swallower.

He promised.

Yeah I probably know them... sometimes I do the stage by the mudmen,

I cant help ya with the balloon swallower... yer on yer own there....LOL

but a promise is a promise.

I may go, I used to get free tickets from my aunt because my aunt and cousin are in the belly dancing tribe that performs there, but I dunno my family kinda got in a little tiff with her family so we haven't really spoke since like March. I dunno, I may try to make it, it's always been fun every time I've went. And now I'm old enough to walk around and drink...HUZZAH!

I went every weekend last year except maybe 2. So I will likely be there most weekends again as I need to keep buying up my garb and gear. Its still too bad that they don't allow real swords to be tied so that you look more whole as a character.

Is it a bad sign that when I read the topic title of Ren-Fest, the top three things I thought of were:

Soup in a breadbowl, turkey legs and pickles?

I mean, I know there's other stuff, too, and maybe it's the pregnancy, but really all I want is that soup in a breadbowl.

No, I understand. One time I went to every single dessert booth in the damn fair, trying to get the chocolate dipped cheesecake, but every single one was sold out.

Just as an aside i'm trying to encourage the "Fashion And Beauty" (now renamed Fashion Beauty and Costume (Historical or otherwise) forum on DGN to also include historical costume talk and such. Traditionally i think (even though it is in the descption) it was assumed such discussion was not part of that section.
