Ren-fest Starts... Yet Again.....

Recommended Posts

Is it a bad sign that when I read the topic title of Ren-Fest, the top three things I thought of were:

Soup in a breadbowl, turkey legs and pickles?

I mean, I know there's other stuff, too, and maybe it's the pregnancy, but really all I want is that soup in a breadbowl.

Don't forget the Scotch Eggs.

Someone told me opening day and closing day are best to go because everyone who is anyone is there..?

Opening day has traditionally been our slowest day.... we have gotten the smallest crowds that day....

Closing day, however... was amazing.... I heard they closed the gates, and wouldn't let anyone else in after like 1pm.... we hit our limit of around 30,000 bodies. I had an amazing show, our Pub Sing was the best of the season, it was the nicest day we had had up to that point... I also heard that there was a three mile long line on I75 of people trying to get in..

The moral of the story is, always get there early... but the best weekends are The Highland Fling, Shamrocks and Shenanigans, High Seas Adventures and Buccaneer Beer Fest....LOL of course.

I'll be there Saturday, the 25th, for the Highland Fling. Chances are likely, I'll be going kinda pirate-ish because I dont feel like dressing in Ren Garb.

Or look for a short plaid skirt, black leggings and combat boots with a walking stick. Yeah, me. =P

I told my friends i would go only if they let me dress up as Ash from army of darkness....so we will see, I usually hate the ren fest but going like that would be fun.

Haha, were you the one who did it before? There was one guy who went to Ren Fest as Ash it was crazy real looking, he even had a real chainsaw for a hand, that wasn't you was it?

I always enjoy hanging out at the Guiness Pub near the arena drinking Guiness and cider mix. What great stuff that is. Also talking with some viking friends that I met through an ex are cool as hell to hang out with. I need to buy some boots this year. Gotta see if I can get some cheaper online this year.

  • 1 month later...

Man..... I have the "ren-fest is over" blues... we are heading down to ORF (Ohio Renaissance Festival) for an invasion next weekend. (Oct 20, 21)... If the weather is nice we are going to play as a group. That will help.
