gothicmom
Hello! Hmmmm, whats Gothicmom been doing????? Getting my life together. I'm not sure what else to say without going on a typing frenzy!! For starters, Aym had spirtit week last week. So I made her a cute 80's out fit for 'way back wednesday'. I'll post a pic in the picture area. I made it without a pattern, which I've never done, so that took alot of time. Michael was sick for a week AGAIN!!!! Nothing too serious, but enough to keep him home. He also had his last hockey day last Saturday. Played a scrimage game and he made 2 goals! He was so happy! He raised his stick up and smiled soooo big. Then at the end everyone received a medal for finishing the season. He had the biggest grin on his face I've ever seen! He's been wanting a trophy or metal for quite some time. He was so happy he couldn't skate!!! Last Thursday the kids had a talent show at school. Aymee sang "The Colors of the Wind". Thats the song from Pocahontis (no idea how to spell that!) She did so well!!! The teachers were asking me if she takes lessons! NO! LOL Her band teacher said "she can play and sing!" Which reminds me. A few weeks ago Aym had a.......uuuhhhhh....band thing! Not a competition, but they play for a judge and get a rating. 1-5, one being best 5 the worst. Aym got a 1! So she got a blue band metal! Lastly, about me......*sigh* last sunday i stepped on the scale and weighed 200 lbs. I knew it was coming, i knew i was "almost there!!!" now i am there. I didn't cry, i didnt get mad at myself. But I have been making changes. This is week one and I feel i have done well. For me, I always told myself I never wanted to be 200 lbs. That was my limit. Not that I said I'm going to allow myself to get that size then lose. I just said I never wanted to be to that point then BAM!! here it is. So, that's what I've been up to. I haven't been on line often. In fact tonight I browsed this first thread, read a few posts and posted this and i'm ready to be off the puter! I guess I did go on a typing frenzy! Sorry! *giggles* miss you all, love you all!

Onyx
I stepped on the scale today, 1 week later, and I'm down 2 lbs!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yay! I'm right there with you on the dieting/exercise thing. I'm going to be doing some form of it the rest of my life because I'm determined to keep at it and stay healthy. I feel so much better when I do. I'm doing South Beach diet (the one designed by a cardiologist) mainly to get my cholesterol down. My doc gave me a deadline to get it down a certain number of points by next month or onto a yukky waay-too-expensive cholesterol med, so I'm pretty motivated. It's making me drop weight too, slowly but surely and I'm truly not hungry if I stick to it. I'm really impressed with it so far because I HATE being hungry. I do hate doing without sugar, but I'm feeling so much better. I have more energy and fortunately *most* of the sugar cravings have finally left me.
