It Just Doesn't Pay To Be Honest

Recommended Posts

So, earlier this week someone stole my car stereo. Which was a replacement for another one that was stolen last year.

So I put an ad on Craigslist looking to trade for one. I offer a digital camera, a lawn mower, just about anything I might have that I don't need, including eBay stock.

So I respond to someone today who has just what I'm looking for. And we go back and forth in e-mail and by phone for a few hours. He wants my digital camera, I want his stereo.

I meet him a couple cities over, and we make the trade. Good to go, right?

So I install the wiring harness, hook it up...

...nothing.

Check everything.

...nothing.

Take off the face plate. The red light on the unit itself is blinking, so it's getting juice.

Put the face plate back on. Discover the reset button. Hit it. Hit the button that makes the face plate tilt down and out.

...nothing.

Try the button again. I hear a noise. Jon moves the face plate. With his help, it goes down and back up.

I try a CD in the player to see if that will make it work.

...nothing.

Muther fucker.

I am SO sick of being taken advantage of.

I do not do this to people. NEVER.

Sigh.

Dumbass.

I.Am.A.Dumb.Ass.

I knew I'd blown a fuse when I haphazardly went to test it when I'd put it in the first time.

But until I did some thinking and actually consulted my owner's manual, I didn't realize my radio works off two fuses.

Damn, it's nice to have my tunes back...
