Gauge
i think part of it is length. really long hair can look nice straight or curly but so many girls are getting super short hair cuts. curles dont typically look good on hair shorter than chin length which is what a lot of girls are doing! pheramoans
My hair is naturally curly, i'm talking like shirley temple curls here - ringlets. Sometimes I straighten it, other times I use that magical invention called the blowdrier curling iron to flatten it some and make them into softer curls. I rarely straighten it pin straight, since it barlely EVER will stay that way [the ends curl back up giving me the same look as if i were to use the blowdrier curling iron on it] and i think it makes me look too harsh. Edit: As observation i've had, is that I tend to get hit on more often when I leave my hair natural.

StormKnight (1)
Been naturally wavy since the day I was born. I was hoping to get the little curl going ala Superman/Clark Kent, just so I can lose the glasses and go "I'm Superman," my my manly voice. (Hey, it worked for DC comics for 60+ years...why not?) But I have never gotten complaints. It is still thick, strong, and not going away (ala balding.) However, I noticed that if I let my hair get longer than I currently keep it, I start looking like this: Ergo, I keep it short. The time it takes to both take care of the hair, compose nine symphonies and several other pieces to include one rocking violin concerto (op. 61,) takes up quite a bit of my morning. My only regret is that I am peppering and don't have the sideburns going grey ala Nick Fury from S.H.I.E.L.D.: Which would thrill me to no end. Guest Megalicious
In my hairs natural state it is exactly like this, volume and all. That being said, I HATE IT. I straighten it, I never let it go all natural. EVER.

JaneDead
i think it depends on the person and the condition of their hair. some people wear it long and it looks like shit. and REALLY should just cut it. i'm talking about those people who think just because their hair is 2 feet long it looks beautiful. that does not make it gorgeous. others have beautiful long hair. same with short hair. it can look amazing or awful. depends on the cut, the style they go for, upkeep, the shape of your face, the texture of your hair, etc. my hair is curly and i pretty much just let it go. if it's short or long. i have no interest in hair upkeep for me personally and i don't think i really need to. i'm not trying to go for a sleek, polished look. i like to look natural. but i really do like ALL hair types/lengths... or no hair at all if you have a nice head. as for straight or curly - i don't think one is better than the other. one is not sexier than the other. i like both equally. some people like my hair short and straight, some like it long and curly-- and i don't really care. i wear it how i want. i could care less to spend hours a week making it straight. all for what? so someone might like it better? who cares. it's my hair. you don't have to like it. I can never get mine that straight! A Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron. My hair is so damn thick, it takes me quite a while to get it all done. I go back and forth on products, I use to love Zero Frizz spray, now it only come in a serum form, but works just as well. And only $5.00. You should let me come over and Iron your hair some time, we can be all girly! But for the most part, trial and error.

Guest Megalicious
Mines naturally wavy ... and VERY thick. I have this one. I love it, though it takes a really long time. I am impressed how much I have cut down on time in the last few years LOL. Due to Keegan. I have become MUCH faster than I use to be. OH another tip Bean. Brush out your hair first, then apply product piece by piece as you go. NOT ALL AT ONCE. Most products say put in damp hair, and then style. THIS HAS HORRIBLE results. I brush my hair and product to each piece as I go, and my hair is super straight. Also if you straighten everday, or nearly everyday don't forget to get a heat protection product! Sorry I know this is off topic. *shuts up*

D -/ oh - i perfer Reds - nice pic...! I expect something like this from Goth_Brooks but I see more and more people are liking redheads. Me personally I like albinos and the funniest term available (not to be mean but I love south park) I also love gingers,LOL. Kinda the same as RH but there is a small difference. Anyways my prefernce for hair would be neither. I like my own hair straight or curly (current chemically straight). I love hair in general. As long as I can run my fingers through your hair and rub it on my body Im in happy land.
thewhiterecluse
Ugh, I am one of those, in between hair types. So it's a bitch to make my hair straight and it's a bitch to make it curly. Plus the frizz makes it even harder. So therefore I am always at war with myself.
