Oy....

Here is some life algebra for all of you.

Impulsiveness + Futon + Upright Aluminum Bar Behind Futon + Landing on Aluminum Bar = Lacerated Left Foot.

Ow....

The stitches come out in ten days, which is nice, since I am in a wedding party on the 18th. I am on cephalexin as an antibiotic. I need to stay off my foot as much as possible, change the dressings once a day, apply hydrogen peroxide to break up the scab, and neosporin to reduce the chance of infection.

I work for a living... how the hell am I supposed to stay off of my for for TEN days?

Argh...

Whoever answered your phone yesterday freaked me out!! I thought you'd broken something! I was worried. I'm glad she told you I had called and you called me back though. I'll probably call to check up on you later today.

:grouphug

It's a bar... of aluminum... in an upright position.

Was just a friendly / curiosity question as stated. I was asking for a somewhat deeper explanation, one doesn't typically just have random vertical bars around the house, usually would be part of some useful thing, attached to something etc.

If you don't want to explain it thats fine, no problem, i was just being conversational.

  • 2 weeks later...

When I read that just now I thought "OMG, that's gotta fuckin' hurt. Then I noticed the date of the post & I thought 'oh, I hope shs's up the wedding'. BTW, how was the wedding hon? I hope you weren't in too much pain. I also hope that you got yourself a Tetanus shot. I do feel for ya thogh. When my daughter was 4 & half years old, she ran into a rebar that was sticking out of someone's yard (we were living in Guam at the time). We were headed to her friends house & took a short cut through the back yard(no, non of the yards were fenced in at the time). Well, she started to run ahead of us when I told her to stay with us. Next thing I know she's on the ground with a gash on the upper part of her thigh & another gash on the bottom of her leg near her ankle. It happened on the same leg. It was NOT a pretty site to see. But when you're a mother, you dodn't think about stuff like that. You want to make sure that they're going to be okay. I haye two similar stories about what my son did, but that will wait for another thread. ttogreh, I hope that you're feeling quite a bit better than before. :grouphug Get Well real soon hon. :happydance:animier::w00t::fun::ice::)

Thank you TrixieGothGirl. I am feeling all right. I can get around with shoes, and the wedding went very well. I danced.

I am assuming that your daughter is fine, but giver her a hug for me the next time you see her, eh?

Oh, and I didn't need a tetanus shot. I got one when I fell face first off of a ladder two years ago.

I make sure she get's a hug from ya. Oh, and that incident with her happened over 12 years ago, so she's more that fine. Just a couple of scars to show for it but nothing too major. I so glad that the wedding went fine for ya; and that's great that you got the chance to dance the night away. :wink That's also good to hear that you didn't need a tetanus shot. Would hate for ya to get lock jaw hon. *hugs*

First it's "oi", not "oy"... Headwreak, I'm going to slap YOU for not catching this lmao.

2nd, shitty deal on your foot. I feel bad, but stitches for 10 days aint that bad...

but really.. as soon as you said upright aluminum pole... I immediately thought the worst and was almost afraid to read on... glad I did, the worst didn't happen.

I would recommend being slightly more careful in the future...
