I guess I could claim I collect child psychology books. I have a ton of them. My oldest daughter has severe issues, and I've always been told to read this book and that book by the therapists and psychologists ... I've got to have around 20 now.

Shirts from concerts. I'm missing a lot of them from one of my moves ... but I still have a few.

Court papers. That one is unwilling, but I have boxes upon boxes of them from the past 7 years.

Apparently cell phones. I have like ... six? I use two now.

My oldest daughter collects camo. Anything camo, she has to have ... pants, shirts, jackets, bags, notebooks, pens ... etc - any colour of camo too ..... She also collects Harry Potter stuff. And maps .... she LOVES maps.

My youngest daughter doesn't collect anything really.

My oldest son really likes socks. He's the one with a form of Autism. He collects socks. That kid has got to have about 80 pairs of socks ... and I just bought him two more pairs today.

My youngest son is only three but he loves cars and trains. You could say he collects them ... he has a ton.

I collect:

skeleton keys

anything with a black arched cat on it

screw back earrings

horribly tacky old cocktail rings that I almost never wear

Penguins

glass vanity items

old photos of people I'm not at all related to, but they just look nice

my mom has a couple hundred strange salt & pepper shakers,I'm always adding to her collection

:peanutbutterjellytime: I'm so happy! :happydance

The church I live next to is having their annual festival this weekend. They always have a really nice selection of Polish items for sale, including the type of boxes I collect. For the past few years, I haven't been able to afford to buy any. But this year, we are doing better. So I just got these today!

And these are the rest of my collection:

The one with the pentagram isn't Polish, it was a gift from Jon during my "pagan period."

I thought the nazi swastika was the reverse of the traditional swastika? No? Do they actually look the same? I don't know where I got the idea that they were reversed...

National Socialist hakkenkreuz: black, on white ground, surrounded by red circle. The figure is right-facing and standing on one "corner". In most traditions the orientation is "flat", i.e. the bottom arm is horizontal. Buddhist swastikas are usually left-facing, but I've heard that this is a recent development, done specifically to differentiate it from the Nazi symbol. I THINK most of the pre-war pieces in my collection are left-facing but I'm not home right now so can't say for sure. Almost all of them have the horizontal orientation, though.

Some traditions didn't use the basic straight-line design... if you look at ManWoman's website, he has a shitload of swastika tattoos, all variations on the basic bent-armed cross. I have three- one curvilinear, one straight but ornamented, and one straight line with lotus blossoms at the ends of the arms and a circle at the center.

I have some you might be interested in. I sell them on eBay but my eBay luck has been dismal lately so if you like you can just have 'em.

I wish I had room for another picture frame, I apparently have a collection of those to, I put my needle books in them and other sewing artifacts I enjoy, I have more collections than I thought I did  I would love to see the pictures, I've been looking to cover the inside lid of my old trunk in them with some keys and ribbon and things like that.

edited because I meant to quote pomba gira

Actually, I try not to collect things. I prefer to own as little as I can.

Ditto. I acdtually start to get anxiety if I accumulate too much and start hocking it on Ebay like a crazy person.

That said, I am slowly collecting owls but I am very picky! =)

I collect Memories. Everytime something happens I want to remember I pick something up, a gum wrapper, a rock, something lying around that others wouldn't give a second glance to. I've been doing this since about 14 or so, now I can go through 12 years of life in about 3 hours, and remember =) Just remember =)

That's so cool.

I wish I had the discipline & patience enough to do something like that. For a while, Jon and I tried to keep a wildlife journal. Every time we had an unusual experience with flora or fauna, we'd put it in a journal that traveled with us. Yeah - for all of a couple months.
