Recap Of Last Week

Recommended Posts

This is just a few days later than it should have been. First I would like to thank everyone that made my trip enjoyable. Especially, Charlie, for putting me up and and putting up w/ me. For the few people I did not get to see, I do wish I could have had the chance to catch up w/ you. Those that I did see, it was not enough. That said, here goes.

I had a good flight out to DC. Got to go out the first night back. Learned that you do not wear 4" heels, and new prescription glasses when you twisted your ankle only 2 weeks prior. Also learned that I can still walk into a home quietly at 2am in 4" heels w/o waking anyone up. I realized that I had not really been out clubbing since I left the east coast and that is probably to blame for at least 10 lbs. of weight gain. I may not be very good at it, but I really miss dancing and acting a fool.

It was a lot of fun to walk around Alexandria and DC by myself and then again w/ friends. I remember why I owned good shoes. Which I should have brought w/ me.

It was great to get to wear whatever I wanted each day, be it jeans, shorts or sun dresses because the weather would allow it.

I forgot what great restaurants the MDW area holds. The inner food snob in me rejoiced.

I got to meet some new people and throw back some drinks w/ great friends.

Friday left me already not wanting Sunday' to arrive w/ my flight back to CA.

I have two and only two things holding me here. My gf whom I love, and a great job. If either one of these change I'm hitting the road. Either way I've come to terms w/ the fact that CA simply can not make me happy. I was hoping that this vacation would help get over the east coast, instead it cemented what feels like home to me. I need to leave, I need a time line for when I'll be back on the east coast stirring up trouble.

Ohh and there's a ton of catch up work for me at work.

It sounds like you had a great time. That's wonderful. I've never been to DC, but plan on making it there one day. I've been told that spring is the best time. Do you think your gf would ever consider moving there if an opportunity came up?
