Cause me thinks it just leaves a bitter taste in one's mouth.

So.......this guy I know is about to spend a ton of time, energy and possibly money to get back at someone who did him wrong......some girl who cheated when they were together.

I told him with all that he could find someone else and it would help his mental state more, just to move on and forget about it.

But he says its good 'therapy' and that she drove him nuts so he is going to do this....which will just make him look like a pathetic washed up loser if ya ask me....

They broke up 2 months ago. Maybe he DOES need therapy.

anger and resentment is a poison that only affects the one holding it

Maybe so, but might as well play to my strengths right?

Living well is the best revenge.

Sometimes clichés have a lot of truth to them.

I'll do that afterwards

Finally I'll add "Revenge is a dish best served cold. It is very cold... in space."

KHAAAAAAANNN!

Revenge can be worth it, sometimes. One simply has to weigh the costs of achieving one's revenge versus the amount of satisfaction one is likely to take from it.

LOL Kirk and Khan are what immediately popped into my head when I read the topic title!

That said, I have to agree with Kit Kat and Onyx. In most cases, plotting revenge is a waste of energy and a huge emotional burden that you alone carry. Better to let it go, let the person who "wronged you" go (completely) and move on with your life without looking back. Relationship wise, that has proven to be the most effective and satisfying form of revenge I have inflicted.

On the other hand, if someone ever hurt my daughter or another loved one, revenge and justice would be swift and terrible. :shuriken:

i let kharma deal with it for me.

i shall not lower myself to that of the unwashed masses

I'm going to name my next dog Kharma. Some kids were being horribly mean to my daughter. I told her not to worry about it because one day kharma was going to bite each one of them in the ass. My brother, who overheard this conversation, then asked if kharma was a dog. Yes, I told him, the biggest, scariest dog you've ever seen!

Revenge is a dish best served cold... indeed

Kinda like Shade was sayin,

You have to evaluate what the possible end result of your revenge plot will be.

If it could land you in jail or legal trouble,

then it isn't worth it.

There are some instances where it is worth it,

like the situation that Farril described,

in a different thread.

But,

alot of the time,

the best revenge truly is to just live the best life you can.

When the other person sees that you're over them, and doin fine,

they will have to live with the fact that they fucked up and there's no takin that back.

I don't really consider that situation revenge though. I consider that just telling the truth. (and living well goes right along with that).

Mine would be slow and excruciating. Harming my children is one of the rare things that will bring about a violent reaction from me. Just ask the lady who hit my daughter last summer about the dent in her hood.

Considering there are several here that wish I was killed in a traffic accident,or murdered, but whatever.

If you steal from me I will return the favor.

I would pre plan, then work out any bugs that might get me caught, if I really wanted to waste time.basically if I don't like you and you are on my neighborhood street near my house you better leave really quick, before shit happens.

I told my kids the same thing unless someone gets physical. Then they have my permission to kick some ass. And they did, got kicked out......as the teacher blamed her, even though some boy tried to grab a certain body part......he never did that again.....I took her out to lunch on the day of her suspension. Some teachers turn a blind eye and don't want to get involved if it is a 'sexual harrassment' type issue.
