jynxxxedangel
I still have my membership card.. I also have my old WRIF D.R.E.A.D. card, too. Is anyone else here old enough to remember WABX, or CKLW? Good Detroit radio shows, stations, and DJs are extinct. The only one I listen to anymore, is the Alice Cooper Hour. Emo, Screamo, and booty music get on my nerves.

Emo, Screamo, and booty music get on my nerves. I listened to Mojo flying the spaceship in every night faithfully all through my teen years... just became a fan on that hotbed of nostalgia, Facebook. And yeah, can remember WABX, CKLW, and also W4... the ancient footlocker that I just threw out a few years ago still had WABX and W4 stickers on it. Speaking of no longer extant music related things... how 'bout those plastic 45 record adapters? I had a sticker of one on my old car... great indicator of people's ages. Those under age 25 or so usually thought it was some kind of "tribal" symbol.

I remember WABX's last day on the air. They went all-request, and they would play anything anyone wanted to hear. How about WLBS '83-'84 and/or the Radios in Motion show? Yeah but everyone on my floor and at home gives me crap for listening to them...it sucks! So I didn't grow up in the 70's and 80's...I can still love the music right? Oh, and my cassette player no longer exists which really sucks because I just got a giant box of old, unopened cassettes from the 80's...damn! Welcome to reasonable music (unlike modern pop music/hip-hop that seems both misogynist and worse than fluff.)

Yeah, music today really sucks...and how many bands today have a song about bicycles set to a video of naked girls riding bikes?

Enishi
At the moment I'm missing my friend who now lives in Seattle. He would probably have liked city, if only for the creepy atmosphere. Me, him, my brother and one other friend of ours would have made for an interesting CC trio. Sigh...
pomba gira
All-day continuous martial arts triple features at the Fox theater. The pre-restoration Fox, where rats of near-ROUS dimensions scampered up and down the aisles and your feet stuck to the never-cleaned morass of spilled drinks and body fluids on the floor... and the onscreen action was counterpointed by the snores and groans of numerous homeless persons... or just plain "bums" and "winos" as we called them back then. Ah, the good old days...

Simon Bar Sinister
Kodachrome film. if you have any undeveloped rolls lying around, you'd better get a move on; there's only one facility left that processes it, and they're going to stop doing so sometime before the end of 2010.
