The Brides are doing good new wave nowadays! haha. I still like their new album though! Bellmer Dolls, and pretty much all of Hungry Eye records. And hey, Murder at the Registry are doing Rozz ball licking very well! Cupido is ace!

The Hex broke up! I am so upset, they were one of the most up and coming and refreshing bands Detroit had. But hey, the Casket Bastards are still going. That Ghouls Delight CD seems interesting too...I need to snag a copy.

I wish the 3-D Invisibles would tour more than just Halloween.

Too bad about The Hex. Gas Hog had also called it a day couple of months back. My friend's psycho band had disbanded over a year ago as well. Koffin Kats have that staying power(4 years now) and now they're going places. A testament to their drive,dedication, and perseverance!

One of the songs sounds like a remix to the Munster's theme and another sounded like some classic rockabilly with goth themes.

I love both of these, but I think we tend to get a lit pretentious about what's "real music" or "original" at times.

A lot of goth has rockabilly themes. As well punk, wave, indie, alternative dance, funk, etc. You just gotta find the good stuff. Glad you liked some of it. All music is real, but there is almost no pure originality. I mean Bauhaus were clearly ripping off Roxy Music, Bowie and Glora Mundi.

And one of my faves, Joy Division (hence--the eternal) was heavily influenced by the Doors.

One of their early tracks even sounds like Jim Morrison did it.

I really dug Cult of the Psychic Fetus, but I dont desire to pay $15 for it.

All goth rock/deathrock kids are pretentious about their music.

Usually for good reason.

It's always misinterpreted for some pretty lame bands at times.

(I.E. Goth being related to Marilyn Manson or Rob Zombie)

(I.E. Deathrock being seen as "death metal".)

It's hard to keep your cool when it's so easily misconstruded by a vast amount of people.

Exactly! Partly why a lotta deathrockers and the like are embarrased of the "G" word.
