Most Comfortable Bras

Recommended Posts

So I want to know from the ladies which kind of bra you think is the most cofortable. The thing is i dont wanna hear victoria seret or anything like that. So i will start..... I really like hanes body shaping bras they are really comfy. The best thing about them is you can find them for as low as three dollars as TJ maxx or A.J. Wright. Also today I have bought my first wonder bra for 8 bucks and i love it! Its amazing it gives natural looking cleavage and is pretty. So ladies lets hear it.....

I'm somewhere between a C and D. Closer to D. And there really is no such thing that I can see as far as a truly comfortable bra for bewbies this size - if you want decent shaping.

For the summer, I've been wearing a lot of tank tops that dip quite low in the front. I picked up about a half dozen of these microfiber sports bras that basically look like tank tops when they peek out of the top of a shirt. They don't really give me shape, just a decent amount of lift and control.

I buy bras with several criteria. If it's for summer activity like yard saleing, going to the park, etc, it's gotta be comfy, so that means preferably no underwire, and usually a cotton jersey material.

If it's for evening but not super-fancy wear, it's gotta be cute, and give some decent shape/control.

If it's for evening and fancy-dress, it's gotta be hot, give good shape and somewhat decent control.

Thing is, I buy all my bras at places like AJ Wright, TJ Maxx, and when on super-clearance, Lane Bryant. I don't buy based on brand, I buy based on fit/style. I have a decent amount of Delta Burke bras 'cause they fit, are sexy, give good control & shape. I've bought a few of those that have Queen Latifah on them. A few Lane Bryant's Cacique brand. The rest are a mish-mash of probably no-names.

To continue threadjacking... My hands make perfectly good breast supports. They have soft skin yet strong muscles to fully support and uplift your busom where it's needed most. Furthermore, they're adjustable from A to DD cup sizes and have a built in massage feature. There's also optional features that require an activation key.

i am a 34/36 DD there is no such thing as comfortable for me. im talking even fredricks, vickies, any of that, they come closer but not great. ive been this size since 7th grade and can say with confidence that the last comfortable one i had was when i was in 5th and only a c.

um...yeah. I'm a 42 DDD (bordering on F) and there is no such thing as cheap or comfortable at this size, though I will say when Lane Bryant's Cacique do the "buy, get one half off," I splurge, and some of the styles aren't too torturous.

None of the bras I own are under $15. For the money, though, all of them are comfy and provide support and a nice contour. Of course, considering I don't have much that needs supporting, there isn't much strain on my back or shoulders. My favorites are VS and Wonderbra's, but I'll buy any brand as long as they fit and look good (30" is hard to find with the right cup size).

see fierce critter i am also between a c and a d at this point and i have found hanes bras to be the most comfy. Thay are the ones with thick straps i am having issues with things digging into me and i hate it! and may i add marcus you are a goof ball!

Which Marcus are you referring to babe? :-P

OK...seriously. You'd think a wider strap would spread the load across more surface area and be more comfortable. Odd that it isn't. Probably a material issue.

You got a bit confused by her post.

Wider shoulder straps do mean less digging in and more comfort. That's what she's saying.

I should buy more like that. But I have this really, horrible stigma about bras that have too much strappage, and if the back hooks number more than 2, I start feeling old, fat and ugly.

The bras I should be wearing are, in fact, ugly. But they're the ones that will provide proper support & shaping. I just can't get myself to buy them. They don't come in metallic purple, red mesh lace, aqua flowered, etc. They're all black, beige or white, are strappy enough that they could probably serve as decent straightjackets, and are generally this ugly lace pattern that would unattractively show through sheer blouses.

I can still find sexy bras its just that all companies sizes are really different. I bought this really cute zebra bra that was sized as a 34C but when i brought it home it felt like an A. maybe I'm a D now.... i dunno the only places you can find 32 and 34 D's is somerset and other expensive places.....i just wanted to add thank you God for not making me a flatsy patsy

Well, when I was in high school I was a 36-38DDD and it was damn hard to find one in that size for less than $40. If I did it was usually a granny bra.

Then in college I started losing weight and dropped down to a DD and it got a little easier, but still had trouble finding anything cute and reasonable. For one glorious year (age 24) I was thin enough to be a regular 36 D and could actually buy cheap cute bras. Then, for some reason, I went back to a DD, even though I didn't gain weight, and I've been a DD ever since.

At this point I only buy Felina or Wacoal bras, and anything without an underwire is out of the question. They're expensive, but they're worth it. They last longer and don't have me spilling out of the cups or getting bulges in weird places like the cheap ones do. Once and a while I can find them on the clearance rack for about $20, but usually they're anywhere from $30-$50.

O.k. I just googled Felina and Wacoal. And damn if they don't carry some sexy designs.

But they don't look any more "built" than the $3.99 jobs I get from AJ Wright or Big Lots or TJ Maxx. Do they really do "all that?"

I'd suppose they do - you said they do. But they're some of the prettiest designs I've seen then in a decent "big-uns" bra.

The only way to tell for sure is go to a store and check out the design and structure. My experience has been that the bras that run a little more are usually worth the money in the long run. My problem is more of finding small enough bras to fit my ribcage that have large enough cups. PIA big time. Almost comforting to know that all of us, in our various shapes and sizes, seem to stuggle equally and I am not alone.

actually i was looking for it on there and i couldn't find it....thanks though.....i guess i will have to keep digging around the lingirie department for it. I was also looking for my fave hanes bras on the body creations website but i couldnt find them.....they dont sell them any more either.

Her is another question does anyone else have problems sleeping without a bra on? I can't get comfortable if i am not wearing one.

Hmmm.. None of my bras are inder $15. More like $30 but they last for 2 years or so if I take care of them so it's worth it. I wear a 36 D/DD too and find that Olga, Vassarette, and Maidenform tend to be the most comfy for me. Havn't tried the hanes though I will now!

It's been my experience that the cups fit better in those brands, but maybe that's just my body. Also, I can get a couple more months wear out of them than most other brands I've tried. Part of the reason I like them is the design, though. It's hard to find pretty bras in full figure sizes, and I have a bit of a lingerie fetish.
