Gaf The Horse With Tears
I went for the first time today. We went out about 12-15 miles and were fishing in about 50-60 feet of water. My God it was... weird. I felt so at home on the sea. We caught lots of fish but not many keeps. i had a shark on for a while but he managed to brak my line once he was near the surface. Fierce Critter
I'm not good with my fish identification. What are those you caught? I think I recognize sheepshead & snapper... I miss ocean fishing. We were stuck on piers, but it's the easiest fishing I've ever done.

Awesome dude, I went deep sea fishing once when I was 14....it was such a blast....I caught a 30 pound king mackeral.....one guy caught a spanish mackaral and when it came up to the surface out of no where a baracuda that was over 4 ft long snapped the fish in half and he brought in the head only.....nature has a way of making you feel so small at times lol. It is peacefull out there....thats what I wanna do when I retire

Gaf The Horse With Tears
The three larger ones in the front of the pic are all types of Porgy and the two in the back are Blue fish. The rest are all types of snapper... I think... I cant remember...
Msterbeau
I did deep sea fishing in the Pacific. I ate, drank and got really sick. The other guys caught a couple smallish sharks.

The rest are all types of snapper... I think... I cant remember... Jon will know what all of them are. Please tell me you bled the blues and ate them? They get a bad rap, mostly because people don't understand they need to be bled. But while we were living poor down there, they were like fine dining. The meat is dense, and not fishy. Best preparation is to completely filet them, skin and all, and bake or broil with some butter & garlic. A recipe a friend suggested, and tasted surprisingly good: slather the filet with Miracle Whip (NOT mayo!), sprinkle with a generous coating of parmesan cheese (preferably shredded fresh), bake until cheese is browned. NUM.
Onyx
How fun! Glad you are having a good time. mmmm. I do miss those fresh Florida fish. Funny how some can feel so at home on the sea. I can never wait to get my feet back on dry land, makes me very uneasy. I do love the beach (with 50+ sunblock) and looking out at the waves though. Gaf The Horse With Tears
We'll be eating them all tonight for dinner. All of them are now fillets floating in salt water waiting to be cooked. As far as I know we are going to be baking. Usually, we spice them with fresh garlic, a bit of oregano, salt and parmesan cheese then seal them in aluminum foil and bake till almost done then open the foil and bake till browned.
