Marblez
I saw Napoleon Dynomite the other day. In the first 20 minutes or so I thought "What the hell am I watching?" But I realized that I actually liked it. You will probably hate it - don't go.

mallochai
Drew is not made of cotton candy. I mean come on, he doesn't even melt in the rain. Went to see Shaun of the Dead the weekend before last. I really enjoyed it. Not only did it make a lot of references to the Romero films, not only did it have lots of hilarious moments, but it also made me actually care about what happened to the characters. And they changed throughout the film instead of being static and boring. I also recommend 13 Moons. It's touted as a film starring Steve Buscemi as a clown named Bananas, but it doesn't really focus on his character so much as the entire gaggle of characters around him. The film quality is pretty low, but the story is just fantastically strange and wonderful, if a little artsy. Some of the other people in the film are Jennifer Beals, Karyn Parsons (better known as Hilary from the fresh prince of bel-air), Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Peter Stormare (one of the nihilists from the big lebowski). And in response to Nienna, I haven't seen the Motorcycle Diaries yet either, though I'm very interested in seeing it. Unfortunately, none of the theatres in Anchorage have any plans to show it to my knowledge.
phee
Kaena: La prophétie Just watched it last night. Very cool CGI flick with sort of a Final Fantacy (the games) feel to it. Very complex animation, but not photo realism like the FF movie, more "comic booked" Richard Harris, Kirsten Dundst, and my personal favorite Keith David, are among the voice actors for the U.S. version... would like to find the original French Version some day if possible.
