I Finally Have It

Recommended Posts

OH MUH GAWD! I FINALLY HAVE IT! After searching the internets for like a YEAR I finally have the ENTIRE series of Paranoia Agent (13 episodes) in high quality and burned to DVD...

Let the anime begin!

I <3 torrents, why didn't I think of that before?

Has anyone seen it? Everyone keeps telling me that I'll love it but mysteriously they always tell me "watch it from the beginning ALL the way though...do NOT skip episodes"

It's subtitled but I don't mind, I'm watching the first ep right now, it seems really intriguing and the anime is gorgeous. It seems really really creepy, it's VERY intense so far!

I watched all the episodes on adult swim when it was on... it seems very odd and random at points but everyone.... and everything... is directly connected. You'll have to watch the episodes back to back a couple of times to figure out who's related to who in what way and for what reasons everyone seems to have some sort of path tied in with "little slugger" aka shogun bat.

Soooo...basically it's FLCL but longer? The anime style looks fairly familiar, looks almost like the people who did Lain.

FUCCCKED UP! That is all. I'm on episode three with that Maria girl who's a hooker, but leading a double life and wtf. How is she TWO people at once? What's with Icchi? Why does it seem to me like he's Shouen bat?

W-E-I-R-D

I thought it may have been quasi-deep, but nowhere like Serial Experiments Lain or Fooly Cooly...

But I stand corrected, the Japanese did it again!

its be the same person as perfect blue (one of my favourate feature lengths) so thats why i picked it up. i loved that movie, the way it fucks with your sense of whats the movie within the movie, fantasy and reality, up untill 15 mins to the end you just dont know which is which.

That's kind of how this one cute and girly full length movie was, Millennium Actress. You would never expect it, it's not DEEP, but it's really REALLY clever how they narrate it, and all the way up until the end you really don't know if it's real or if it's the narration.

Check out Death Note sometime. You can watch it streaming for free on Veoh.com

I was fantastically surprised. I was expecting it to suck.

Will do! I've heard of it and heard good things about it, but don't know a whole lot of people in my immediate group of anime watching friends who have seen it (which is small at best) so I don't know a whole lot about it.

I prefer subs over english anyway. I just watched the first episode of Paranoia Agent on Veoh.com

I liked it. It's weird.

Ah so we're pretty much both watching it for our first time at the same time, huh? It's weird in that the second you think you have something figured out, it changes (just like FLCL) but it's kinda dark, twisted, and metaphorical like SE: Lain (I'm on the third episode though, so I'm not gonna give any spoilers).

There is an episode in Paranoia Agent depicting a suicide pact between three very different characters. It was an episode so rich that, I think, far transcended the usual artistic reach of anime.

I'm still on ep 3, haven't really had time to watch it since yesterday. Thanks for sparking my interest without including any spoilers though. I so look forward to seeing it.

I wish I could "get" anime... but for whatever reason, it can't hold my attention for more than the time it takes for me to change the channel. :(

Is metalacoplypse anime? I can dig that.

No, but it still earns you awesom-o points  . Nathan Explosion is my favorite lead singer behind Ogre

I like the part where they try to hang themselves in the woods. That ep is the only one that I'm iffy on how it really fits in with the rest of the series, but then again I was on like beer six by the time I got to that episode  I'll have to watch it again. It's so creepy because they're all very joyous looking like they're constantly amused and having a good time, especially the little like 11 year old girl, but all they're doing is talking about ways to kill themselves and envying people who die.

That's probably because you happened across some really mundane shit like Yu-Gi-Oh or Bleach, which is too monotonous for anyone over 10 years old. Watch some good, engaging shit like Death Note or FLCL. And if that does not work, woe to the American attention span if it can no longer digest even something as unchallenging as anime any longer.

Yeeeeap. Usually people who don't like anime have only seen stupid shit like Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, Bleach, Inuyasha, which wouldn't even have entertained me if I were 10.

If you want something that's very entertaining yet easy to understand and relate to, uhmm hmm well then maybe start with something like Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo.

FLCL, as stated, is VERY engaging, but many anime newbs who aren't used to thinking in that sort of mind frame don't usually grasp the plot. I've wanted to smack every ignorant person who has come to me and said "FLCL is GAY, it's nothing but nonsense. There's so plot!" I say "No, jackass, you apparantly are just to simple to grasp the plot, because it's very much there and the whole thing makes sense if you break it apart piece by piece" Well, it doesn't fully make sense until the last episode, but trust me it does. Alot of great anime is like that though, I'm starting to think Paranoia Agent will be the same way.

I have to jump in on this and say that even though I watch deathnote,Lain, bebop and witch hunter robin I still think that bleach is a fucking great anime.

I haven't had a chance to say otherwise, I haven't caught that many episodes just yet. I think I've seen two, I'm not going to lie from the two I've seen so far I'd have to say it's not my sort of thing, but you can't judge an entire series by two episodes.

Muhahaha...I'm probably going to watch the rest of Paranoia Agent tonight (and rewatch a few from being slightly intoxicated the first time I saw them, just to make sure I didn't miss anything) and then...?

I can download and finally watch Excel Saga  MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I will download and watch until....I HAVE WATCHED ALL THE ANIME IN THE WORLD FOREVER EVER!

...*ahem* Sorry. Needless to say, I r a happy panda atm.

With just about anything on tv it doesnt take much more then two episodes to get you hooked it just has to be the right 2.

Bleach had been on adult swim for over a year before I payed any attention to it then one day I had it on thought it was good watched it the next night and after that I couldnt even wait long enough to see what happened next so I just watched it all on youtube. Im sure the fact that there are 150 episodes and counting is what turns people away and makes them think that its 5 episodes of somebody trying to throw a fireball like dragon ball z but thats hardly the case at all the story is great and the action is fast And I think its just a all around great show

Yeah that's always been a huge turn off with longer series is that I no longer have enough time usually . When I was a kid I payed attention to DBZ, because I hung out with alot of boys AND my mom watched it, so I had to. At the time I got real into it though, if it's ever on TV I'll catch an episode just for shits and giggles.

I LOVE Sailor Moon, and that's like god...300 episodes? I can't even remember. I still haven't seen the last season, which is undubbed and has never been shown in America. It's actually the best one from what I hear, the Outer Scouts including my favorite superhero sailor scout of DEATH, Sailor Saturn, are in almost all of the last part. SM is actually very deep, most people think it's just a silly show for little girls, but it has a very epic and analytical storyline to it (between all of the "fluff" episodes. Basically fluff episodes usually have just the inner scouts and are absent of outer scouts, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto).

I'll have to catch Bleach when I can, I did like the visuals, it's pretty well animated. Maybe I'll give it a second try.
