Onyx
I may be going to Nocturna in Chicago on the 30th if I can scrape together enough cash. It's here: 3206 N. Wilton " Bottom Lounge is located 2 doors north of Belmont Ave, just 1/2 block east of the Belmont stop of the Red Line "el" train, one block west of Clark St. There are city busses which runs on Belmont Ave. and also on Clark St. Taxis are easily hailed on the street throughout the evening." I am looking for info about hotels nearby - preferably a hotel that someone has personal experience with. I don't need anything super-fancy, but don't want anything too scary either I'd like to keep it under $125 if possible. (Yeah, I know, not so easy in downtown Chicago). Onyx
not sure if this will paste but found Cass Hotel http://travel.travelocity.com/hotel/HotelD...539642283773479 Rooms are super cheap which scares me a bit but it does have one good review on travelocity. Troy Spiral (13)
I've been to chicago about 9 times , and i cant for the life of me remember any of the hotels we stayed in (mostly went with my friend paul or an ex girlfriend) they all were either on state street, or michigan avenue downtown. The one hotel we stayed in 3 times and i STILL cant remember the name of it. Its been been , what seems like ages and ages since the last time though. I went digging a bit through some old souvineers and stuff to try and figure it out, even checked some ancient credit card bills... still no clue. The ex isnt alive any more and my friend paul now lives in San Fran... might talk to him soon i'll ask him if i can remember but its been like 10 years since he and i were there. Most all the places right there on michigan ave across from the park / fountain area are pretty nice... but in terms of $$$ im not sure, it was always like 100-175 (double occupancy) ish a night from what little i can remember. Soulrev
Here's the best advice you're going to get as far as hotels go.. Stay the hell away from hotels located on the South Side. South side of Chicago is homeboy kill-yo-ass-cuz-you-ain't-black part of town. If you can find a hotel located anywhere near Lake Michigan (downtown area) then you're good.. Just please, stay the hell away from the south side. those fuckers are nuts.. At least stay away from the south side unless you're packin' heat ;P
