Poor Rat Baby Needs Ur Hewp!

Recommended Posts

So, it's been very well known for years between our little friend group growing up that my best friend's brother is a total jerk-off. He's always been a very selfish slacker, mooches, etc. Only looks out for himself basically.

Him and his girlfriend just moved into a townhouse in the same plaza as mine (actually it was where all three of us grew up in the first place, how weird right?). They were fine for a minute, but then broke up. Before they broke up though, he had gone out and bought a little baby rat as a pet and now that him and his gf broke up the rat reminds him too much of her.

So what is he going to do with it no matter what?

Let the baby go outside...in this weather. There's already wild rats in the area which could be violent toward the little bugger (I'm not even sure of the rat's gender or type) or the poor guy could get killed in one of the strategically placed rat traps around the townhouses. If none of that happens, surely he will freeze, he is DOMESTIC and my bf's jackass brother doesn't understand that there's a HUGE difference between domestic/wild rats. He surely WILL not survive.

The guy refuses to take him to a pet store (I don't want to do the same because if you give them rats from sources that aren't their own, 9 times out of 10 they'll use them as feeders). As a matter of fact the guy REFUSES not to let him go unless I personally take him in, since Lisa's brother knows I'm like a rat guru and they're my specialty when it comes to pets. What a horrible burden to put on an animal lover, right? Makes me so mad he'd do this to me since I'm constantly broke and have enough stress as it is.

I think what I'm getting at (I'm not even sure 100% percent if I want to give him away yet) is that I may need someone who is willing to give him a good home. Time is running out for him, so no matter what I need to get him from Lisa's brother regardless, but if anyone MIGHT be interested, please PM me. I was going to put this in the DGN Classifieds, but not every checks that forum regularily. It needs to be a GOOD home too, you better treat him like Prince Rat  I have a huge problem when people don't treat animals better than they treat themselves. If you can't treat him like absolute spoiled royalty, like you better feed him pizza every night and let him run around your house freely all day, then please do not apply. I also require picture updates of the little man, so I know he's in sound health. I understand...I'm obsessive.

So, if you may be interested, let me know. Like I said, if I fall in love with his little face, I may not be able to part with him, so it's not a sure thing that I'll be giving him away. Thanks guys.

P.S. It must also be someone within Oakland or Macomb County. Sorry, but I do not have the time nor money to drive all the way out to bum fuck Egypt, and that would actually be more hassle, time, and money than just keeping the little dood.

If you can hang on to him till Candy & Odim's party, I'll take him. If needed, I can throw you a few bucks to pay for his keep until then. I want pets for my classroom... my students will love him and I'll make sure he's well cared-for. And I absolutely promise never to feed him to Ophelia (my corn snake)!

Does he come with a cage? No biggie if not, sure I can come up w/something between now & then!

Thank you much Pomba, and like I said I'm not 100% SURE that I won't keep him. I haven't quite decided, but I will let you know definately before the party.

I'm glad to know you would have him, I know you'd take good care of him, so like I said I'll let you know how it goes.

What a shame someone would consider putting him outside. :(

My feeling exactly. I don't want to insult Chernobyl's acquaintance, but.. god almighty, the poor little beastie wouldn't last five minutes if it were loosed into the "wild". And yeah, wild rats would definitely brutalize and probably kill it... rats are territorial, communally living critters and do not tolerate outsiders.

No it's okay. He's a dumbass  He always has been a slacker and irresponsible, I mean funny guy and has always been very artsy creative wise (he does amazing things with movies), but still a dumbass. That's why I didn't mention names of course.
